Painted Piano!

We painted our piano white!  When we removed the front to be painted,  I saw how beautiful the "inside" of a piano is.

Thanksgiving Buffet

I am decorating the dining room for Thanksgiving this week.   Here is the new "fall..mas" wreath that I made to put over the buffet. I love sparkly things for the holidays, so I thought...why not an ornament wreath for Thanksgiving!

Chenille Spreads!

Saturday was a beautiful fall day...crisp, but sunny, so we headed out for some yard sales and an estate auction.

Saturday's Estate Auction

There were hardly any yard sales on Saturday, so we decided to walk down to an estate auction that was just down the street from where we live.  They had a lot of antiques and took them all day to get everything sold.

Thursday, October 18, 2012 for a Vintage School Locker

I fell in love with this locker the minute I laid eyes on it!  I got it from a special friend about three weeks ago.  Isn't she a beauty???   It has been in sitting in the back of the SUV since then, what with Howard's back surgery and everything else.  We finally got it unloaded yesterday.   ( If you want to see what the porch looked like is the link

Fall Tablescape

Our dahlia's in the backyard are putting on the most beautiful fall display.  I cut some of them yesterday and am using them for the centerpiece in my fall tablescape.   I am using vintage ironstone teapots for vases.

Decorating with Cloches

I have a lot of cloches and use them all the time in my vignettes.  Here is a fall cloche, filled with dried pumpkin stems and thread.      I have my Santos filled with a clock face here, but you will see it later in this post filled with pumpkins.  I have had it filled with dishes, cups, stacks of folded linens, you name it!

Coastal Cloche

This is my coastal cloche!  I put a large sea shell on a silver goblet, added some lace, a star fish, and some small sea shells to my cloche vignette..

What's on the Kitchen Island this Week?

The weather has been just perfect this week end,  great for going to yard sales! We picked up this old mercantile scale for $25, which I thought was a wonderful price!

Black and White Halloween Tablescape

I did a black and white Halloween tablescape in the dining room.   Isn't that standing pumpkin in the corner cute,   When I got him at a yard sale,  he was orange, so of course, I had to paint him!

Pastel Pumpkins in the Sun Room

I added a touch of fall to the sun room today.  I have the sun room decorated in pink and blue and will probably leave it that way until after Christmas.

What's on the Kitchen Island this week?

What's on the kitchen island this week?  I usually take my treasures photo's on the island because the lighting is so good!  I found this vintage leather suitcase ($3) at an estate sale last week end.  Somehow I didn't get a post done last week on my treasures, so I just added them in to this post. The lamp shades were also purchased last week end  at the auction ($20 for both)

Halloween is a Hoot

I did a  Halloween vignette on the desk in the entry. This desk was originally a dark wood.   I painted it white, distressed it, and put on new drawer pulls.

Shabby Pink Witch?

Welcome to my Halloween party!

Pink Pumpkins for the Cure!

This is a repost of one that I did earlier in the summer for a magazine contest.  I wanted to post it again for the month of October.   My mother had breast cancer, so I am showing my pink pumpkins this month in her honor.

The traditional colors for fall are orange, brown, and gold.  But what do you do if those colors don't look  right with your decor?  Well, you start spraying those orange pumpkins pink and white and covering them with glitter
