Nutcracker Vignette in the Kitchen

I am decorating the kitchen this year with a Nutcracker in Candy Land theme.   I found these beautiful pastel Nutcrackers at Burlington (Coat Factory, lol) this year....they have a wonderful assortment of Christmas decor in pastel colors.
I fell in love with this matching Gingerbread house...see the sweet little pink reindeer?...he was not part of the Gingerbread house.  (I found him at Target)
I used all my treasures to make this vignette on the kitchen counter.

There were 3 Nutcrackers.....all with different cupcake hats....

and the Gingerbread house has a cupcake chimney.   I made the silver garland trees....
You can click on this post to see how I made them.....http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2013/11/lets-make-some-christmas-trees.html

These little pink glittery trees didn't always look like this....

Here they are before their makeover.   The two unfinished trees were purchased at an after Christmas sale....but the green ones are made from pallets!  H made them for me years ago from some old pallets that he had  (he was in the freight business for 40 years, so I have lots of stuff made from old pallets!)  Anyway, H sprayed them with pink paint, forgot to get a picture of that.   And then just painted them with Elmers glue that had been thinned with water.  Then, sprinkle them generously with Epsom Salts....you can find it in the pharmacy area at Walmart.

Now I have this end of the kitchen decorated....I only lack one little corner and I'm finished!

Some of you have asked how I cook with all this stuff on the counters...well,  I always keep the island clean and clear for cooking!
Click here for the deets on this vignette......http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2013/11/decorate-your-kitchen-for-christmas.html

I am going to have to shift over from Christmas decorating mode to Thanksgiving mode pretty quick!   Only a week til the big day!

  11. Penny!!! Love it all! I usually hit Burlington after the holidays when everything does to 75% off. I will definitely have to scout it out before Christmas this year....I just dropped in to tell you how lovely everything looks. This weekend is the Craft fair and I am losing my mind!! I have been crafting and setting up the Hall and the kitchen there to get ready for the event. I will be so glad when this is over so I can focus on my own house.... So I do owe you some comments even though I have visited....

    Hugs,
    Deb
