Romantic Fall Tablescape

Here is my Romantic Fall Tablescape!  You can see the easy Halloween wall decor on the right. I did a post on it earlier http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2012/09/easy-peasy-halloween-decorating.html  And... you can see the buffet that I will do a separate post on later.

The place settings are a combination of iron stone platters and some beautiful vintage dishes. We don't actually use all these dishes to eat, but I liked the way it looked.  I thought using the platters for dishes was a whimsical take on a tablescape

You may remember these floral dishes from an earlier post.  I got them at a yard sale about a month ago.

This beautiful tea pot was my mothers.  It has all the colors that I have chosen for the fall table . Pink, cream, gold, yellow, and burgandy.

Beautiful swan serving dish.

I got this crystal and brass scale at the auction last week and decided to use it for the fall center piece. I used yellow AND pink water glasses on the table.

Usually these vintage scales are filled with grapes and fruit, but I chose pearls and diamonds for my romantic fall dinner.

Another beautiful serving dish that belonged to my mother.  It was one of the inspiration pieces for the colors of my tablescape!

These teacups had the perfect fall colors.  I used gold silverware tied in a simple handkerchief. (Did I spell that right?)

The table cloth is ...my versatile  bedspread.  I like my tablecloth to go to the floor and I have found that a bedspread is a great way to do that for little money ( I get them at yard sales)   I topped it with a ruffled bedskirt, and I gathered some romantic fall fabric and tucked it in to the corners. To tie that fabric into the rest of the room, I made a valance for the window and a scarf for the buffet.

Here is the view from where I sit.  Howard sits in the chair facing the window so he can see outside. I get to see my new white cabinet that I featured on this post  http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2012/08/roses-roses-roses.html

This is the view from the living area, you can see the kitchen in the background. And, you can see the quick valance that I made to match the tablecloth.. I just gathered some fabric and tied it to the existing rod, right over the valance that was already there.  I hope you enjoyed my post on our Romantic Fall Tablescape!  I will be joining these parties!

  4. Penny,
When I clicked on this thumbnail Pic , I knew it just had to be you!! LOVE everything in this post!!
That tea pot is to die for and I love what you did with the scale, decorating it with the beads. I have had one for years and usually have faux pastry on the scales.
Thanks so much for all your visits and kind words!

You asked about my pics with lamps on. I use the candle light mode on my camera when I take pics of trees or lamps lit. I do not have an expensive camera, a Kodak Easy Touch. In fact, I have 2 since we originally thought the older one was broke but it turned out to the he memory card and not the camera so I keep one in my purse at all times. Sometimes the pics do come out a bit blurry in candlelight so I take a lot and try to refocus at times and that usually helps in taking a better pic.

I hope you have a great weekend!! It was in the 40's here this morning so Autumn is definitely on it's way here!

    Hugs,
    Deb

  10. Very Romatic! The platters are lovely in this romatic tablescape. I like your flowered china and you have a beautiful dining room. The chairs appear so special with soft tufting and carved oval wood. Are these antiques in your dinning room!

    Thanks, Pam
