We Painted our Brick!

We painted the brick on our home and I can't tell you how much I love the new look!
The brick on our house was ok, but pretty dull and dated.  I had seen some new houses with painted brick,  so we did some research and decided to update our brick.  We used Valspar masonry paint from Lowes.

H also painted all of the wicker white while he had the sprayer out...

Our granddaughter, Kyleigh, is ready to help Papa paint!   H painted the brick, trim. deck, security grates, and shutters.

I have started to decorate, but still have a long way to go!

H puts the flag out almost every day...unless it's really windy.
The leaves on the trees are barely out, and we are supposed to have a cold front coming in Wed  (with a low of 27)

H put some artificial grass along the walkway.   We have a lot of rock in our front yard (very low maintenance) and thought a little green might add some curb appeal.

The hosta's and hydrangeas are starting to peek thru the rock, so there will be some more green in front of the fence soon.
There is H on the left adding some final touches.   I will add some "final touches" to the porch and be back to give you a tour!

  43. Your cottage looks so lovely with its new coat of paint. I too have a brick house it has been what they call "bagged" where it has had concrete put over but not perfectly so the brick shapes still show underneath. I painted my house a gorgeous pale true grey (no blue tones) last year and love the look. Now I am working on the windows as the whole house was originally painted a dreadful steely blue colour, including the windows. We are painting the windows in Resene, Black white, which is a sharp white.

  44. I LOVE painted brick houses and yours is not exception! You are so brave to actually do it and it sounds like your hubby was on board too (sometimes that is an issue as some men say 'why in the world would you want to paint brick?"). I saw your post over at the Liz Marie blog party.
