Envelope Slip Cover

I recently put a new slip cover on the sofa in our family room,  so of course the love seat wanted one too!    You should have heard all the whining she did...lol!

I did this slip cover in about 30 minutes.   I left the arm covers on that were already there.   Then I put a full size pink striped sheet across the back, seat, and over the front valance..    I used large safety pins across the top of the "skirt" to attach the sheet to the love seat  so it won't slide onto the floor.
You can see in the second photo that I laid a queen comforter over my striped sheet.    Then I set my cushions in  and closed the envelope!   It's just like making a bed.   The kids will be here a lot over the summer and I can just throw the sheets and comforter in the washer when they get soiled.

I love the casual look that my envelope slip cover gives the sofa.    The kids can lay in the "bed" and watch TV or play on their computer.

The photo on the left is the "before"......and the new look is on the right.
I also brought in the ottoman that was in the sun room where they can prop their feet up and enjoy the summer.

I like lots of pillow on the furniture so you can really get comfy!

Left is the new love seat slip covers.......the right is the sofa I covered earlier.
Here is a link to the sofa if you want to see more about  it......http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2015/05/shabby-slip-covers.html

Are you getting the house ready for the kids summer break?    Friday is Kyleigh's last day of school and I can't wait to start our "summer vacation"

  9. I have been looking for a slipcover for for our love seat recliner with no success- I have been doing the sheet and quilt thing- I think if I kick it up a bit I will be happy with doing something similar to your look which I love- that should work as the sofa is in the dining room.
