Summer Mantel

The mantel on the faux fireplace in the master bedroom still had Easter/Spring decor on it.......I think it's about time to put spring decor  away and create a lighter look on the mantel  for summer !

I created a simple floral design in a white wire container by filling it with rolls of thread.....

Then   I filled  my  thread rolls with silk flowers.       You could use fresh flowers by slipping a glass vial filled with water in the hole..... I didn't have any fresh flowers today though.

I tucked a couple of sprays of silk roses under the metal container......tied a bow on the container and my design is finished.

I replaced the bunny and lamb on the spring mantel with two lamps that I moved to mantel from another area of the bedroom.

I packed the spring wreath away and replaced it with a framed metal ceiling piece that I found at a yard sale last week end.

I replaced  the ruffled  mantel scarf  with a combination of Battenburg lace pieces.

Now I need to change the bedding out......be back soon with the new look for summer in the master bedroom!

  3. I also love that basket of crochet threads. They make me want to pick up a hook and grab a ball and start crocheting. :-)

  4. So pretty, Penny!! Thanks for the inspiration with the thread because I have several of the same! I so love your mantels. I will be painting my faux fireplace at the end of this week when I am off for 3 days. I hope I can add some embellishments to it but since it is actually a cabinet and has doors, I may be limited in what I can do. I wish you lived closer so I could borrow H. for his carpentry talents!! LOL!!
Have a great rest of the Holiday weekend!!
    Hugs,
    Deb
