My New She Shed

The little utility trailer has led quite a life!     She has been on the longest yard sale several times.....converted to a cottage....and now a makeover to a She Shed.

When we retired her.......

and she found a permanent home in our drive way,    she needed curb appeal

On the left,   you can see her first makeover............the right shows her new makeover.

First,  she got a "bump out".......

A new door with her name in the window......

I put a topiary on each side of the door.

Her 'bump out" has a metal roof.......

Mailbox,   kick plate,  screen protector,  vintage door knob,  and a pretty white door mat.

I didn't have two windows alike,  so they are all different.

Here's the window on the other side of the door.      All the windows have fabric in them that matches the two chairs in front of the she shed.

The doors on the end of the trailer are covered with a barn door shower curtain.

The old front door on the trailer was moved to the back to make a "pretend" door to the back yard of the she shed.

I hung a metal spray of leaves from the pretend door .

Here is the other end of the trailer.

I have a scare crow dressed in fabric similar to what I used for the chairs.....pink and cream stripe & pale blue.     I have a flag hung on an old roll away frame next to the scare crow.

The third window has a back drop of the same fabric as the other two.....pink shutters.....and a ceiling medallion  screwed on to the front.

I repurposed what was left of the old  bench from the original redo into a shelf to hold plants.

Can you see how the bench is just set across the hitch of the trailer?      The bench doesn't even touch the pavement.....just rests on the hitch instead of hanging on the wall like a normal shelf would.

H and I had so much fun doing this makeover on our little trailer.

By reusing supplies that we already had on hand.......the total cost of the makeover was less than $75.   About the only thing we bought new was the plywood for the bump out and the She Shed letters.

Plain trailer...............................................cottage..................................... She Shed

One day I hope to get the inside finished and share that with you!

My new She Shed!

  31. Love this idea can you please tell me how you attached your windows to the metal side of the trailer ? I have an old 10x20 ft metal shipping crate that my husband turned on its side built a pitched roof and door on front that we use for seasonal storage and I would love to do a makeover like this ! I have vintage doors and window frames already to use but I worry that attaching them may be too heavy or allow for water leakage . Thank you for your help and inspiration !
