Oh Christmas Tree....oh Christmas Tree

I put up a Christmas tree in our family room over the week end,   it was so relaxing last night to sit in my recliner and enjoy the lights on the tree.

I wanted to showcase the lights this year,   so I decorated our tree very minimally,,,,,,,

I scattered a few frosted pink poinsettia's on my tree .......

and used a simple quilt as my tree skirt......

My Christmas theme for the family room this year is......Christmas Flower Market.....so,  be prepared to see a lot of flowers in my decor around the family room!

Instead of wrapped packages under my tree,   for now I have a few vintage farmhouse toys.

I moved my mothers tiered harp table from the space in front of the kitchen window and put it next to the Christmas tree.   I plan to put a small tree in the empty space that the harp table left in the kitchen.

I decorated on and around the table with Santa's dressed in buffalo check.....a mini bench with a small pillow and throw.....and of course   more flowers!

Next to the tree is a love seat that I have decorated with a couple of poinsettia pillows and a pretty poinsettia throw.....

I kept the Christmas decor on the piano top very simple.....

Now,   I need to finish the Christmas decor on the other side of the fireplace and then move across to the other side of the room and add some Christmas touches to the area over the sofa.

I took this photo as I sat in my recliner......this evening I plan to turn off all the lights the room and just leave the tree lights on......and listen to some Christmas music.

And for the final touch,   I will light my candle and the room will smell delightful!

Christmas stands for love, family, friends, peace and joy amid the everyday bustle. I love the old Christmas carols that bring back memories of childhood. God bless you and Mr H.

  8. I have never seen pink poinsettias before, but I love the soft look of it. Winter Wonderland is my favorite theme, and I am getting all of the Winter vibes. Love it! You'll find it featured at this week's Snickerdoodle Create Bake Make Link Party (live Saturday at 5pm EST).
