Coastal Powder Room

It's been a couple of years since I've freshened up the bath for the master bedroom.   I kept most of the pieces that were already in there, but "fluffed" them up a bit.
This bust was originally on the left end of the vanity.   I wanted to make her the focal point of the vanity, so I moved her to the center.     She had a simple tiara...and that was it!  How could I have left her so unadorned?   I added lots more bling to her existing tiara and surrounded her with jewels.   The jewels came from a treasure chest at the bottom of the ocean....a girl can pretend can't she?

I had this caddy on a tablescape in the sun room last week.....it was holding silverware.   I thought it would make a wonderful wash cloth caddy, so I moved it to the bathroom.   Who knows where it will show up next!

Behind my "sea goddess" is a heart shell mirror....reflecting in the mirror is  the side of the floral comforter on our bed.   The master bath opens up into the bedroom.

I almost forgot to get a 'before" photo of the mirror.     I had already started to paint it before I remembered!  All I did was dry brush a soft aqua shade of paint over the shells.   The shell mirror came in a $5 box that I bought at the auction last summer....lots of goodies were in that box!

On the end of the vanity by the window, I put together a vignette with accessories that I shopped for "around the house"



I did buy one new thing in the vignette.   I fell in love with the little string of aqua fish that I found at Kirklands for $5.  I hung them from the ring that holds the hand towel.   We don't use the decorative hand towels to dry our hands,    I keep a stack of pretty face cloths by the sink  to dry our hands with.    



I hot glued some aqua jewels to the star fish to dress it up a little....I also hot glued a vintage ear ring in the center. 

H painted two plant stands for the powder room redo......You saw one earlier in the corner by the window (third photo up), and  you will see the other one in the third photo down with a fern on it. 

Sooooo, hope you can follow my madness....the bust was on the left before...and the cloche was in the center.  Sometimes, just changing things around will freshen your room up so much!

The little metal thing on the top of the cloche was white until this morning....I dry brushed it with a soft aqua color.  In the cloche I had a star fish on a silver goblet....I took it out and put in my aqua hobnail compote, filled it with small shells, and topped it with a large sea shell. 

Here is the other plant stand that got a fresh coat of cream paint this morning,

I replaced the large white resin piece over the toilet with two smaller coastal pictures that I bought at Kirklands when I found the string of fish..

I loved the jewels on the tips of the shells...

Sitting on the porch....looking out over the water...this picture was a perfect addition to the long wall in the powder room. 

The weather is just gorgeous today and it's supposed to be warm thru the week end.   I've got the window up to let some of that fresh air into the house!
