Penny's Vintage Studio...Part 2

I wanted to show you the progress that has been made in organizing  the studio.   There are still four more area's that need to be organized........this may be an all summer project...lol!

In the before photo you can see that I had three vintage school lockers on the wall.     Two of them were moved to another area....and I did a make over on the remaining one.    What happened to the big head and foot board?   H is using them in a porch project that he is working on!

I had two vintage hymnals that were alike,  so I decided to use one of them to "paper" the locker.     I did some research on the internet and I decided to use spray adhesive to adhere the sheets to the locker.   Some used double sided tape....some used wallpaper paste,  but they said the sheets tended to wrinkle real bad.   I was very pleased with the method I used....3M spray on adhesive.

I then printed off some pretty images from the internet and glued them on top of my sheet music.   It took me about 2 hours for this project     The locker was $3 at a yard sale....book was .25...and I printed the roses photos from the internet!  Less than $5 in the total project!

The original color of the locker was blue and someone had tried to spray paint the front doors and there were big ugly runs down the front....sorry I didn't get a photo of that!

  I use this locker to store Easter decor.

You may recognize this pretty can can that is stapled around the desk....you last saw it as a tree skirt at Christmas!    If I want to use it again at Christmas,  the staples can easily be removed .
To the right side of the desk,  is a unit that I bought at the auction a couple of years ago.   I use it to organize all the magazines and decorating books that I have accumulated over the years.  

On top of the unit,  I have what is left of an old sewing machine.   I bought these three pieces at a yard sale a long time ago....all that was left of the machine was these four draws and the lid ( the lid is on top of the drawers)  

I use the sewing machine drawers to organize thread.

I have bought all of my decorating books at yard sales and I try never to pay over $1 for them.

The vintage steamer trunk in the corner is where I store fabric...the steamer trunk  is setting on a large trunk that I use to store Fall decor.     The trunk in front of the window is also full of fall decor and I have made it into a little settee for the bunnies to set on til next Easter.

I had a tote of greenery that wasn't in use, so I decided to  tuck it in between the collection of enamel ware that is on the shelf above the french doors.

                            You can still see the enamel ware but the greenery and geraniums dress it up a bit!

Old steamer trunks make great storage units.   We were at an estate sale a few years ago and all the trunks were $5 each....I bought 2 steamer trunks and 4 large lidded trunks.   

I don't keep a lot of fabric around .....mostly just small pieces that I use in vignettes.
