| Our rose garden has produced the most beautiful flowers this year. I don't let any of those gorgeous petals go to waste....they all get dried one way or another! |

| H cut a plastic bag full of them this morning....he's such a sweetie.... |

| I dry the roses all different ways.....sometimes I put the petals in a pretty basket on the kitchen table (smells wonderful) If the flower is still pretty much in tact, I tie a bunch of them with a rubber band and hang them from a rod over the kitchen window ( I am trying to make a valance with them) Others I let dry in the vase of water that they were in ( the ones in the jars were done that way) |

| I've had good luck just placing the large ones in a basket...the only thing I do with the petals in a basket is "stir" them once a day or the ones on the bottom will mold. |

| My favorite roses are the ones that have 70 to 100 petals on them.... |

| I still need to fill in the "holes" of my valance with some more roses.... |

| I tried to get a good photo of how the bunches are attached to the spring rod. I used a rubber band to tie the roses together, then made a S shape out of strong ( baling) wire....put the bottom S under the rubber band....and the top S over the rod. |

| I love to use fresh roses in vignettes til they dry...then I just put them in a container such as the big glass jar you can see behind the rooster. |

ReplyDeleteI am so motivated after visiting you and there are more and more signs of "Penny's influence" beginning to pop up here and there around our home. You have such a talent for putting things together. Just as when I visit a extremely charming store with everything placed in such irresistible vignette's, I want it all! However, of course, I cannot afford "it all" so I end up buying one thing and it never quite has the same charm at home as it had in the sweet vignette in the store. :) BUT, now that have met you, Penny dear, I am getting better and better at the "charm" factor. I love it all..want it all and swoon over all you do! You are such an inspiration!! Thank you!

Penny I love your pretty valance. I want one like that now. I dry my rose petals,but they turn brown. How do you keep them pink?
