| At the head of the table, I have the original guest book from my parents wedding. It would be fun for your guests to look through this book and see who was at the first wedding....and who is here now to help celebrate maybe their 20th, 25th or even 50th anniversary. If you have extra unsigned pages, have your guest sign the original book....what a keepsake for your parents to have! |

| I have a small bouquet at each setting for the guests to take home with them after the party. |

| At this end of the table, I have a beautiful bride doll. The covered box on her left contains all the cards that the couple....my parents in this case....received at their wedding. |

| That completes the tour of my first table.... |

| For the second table....I replaced the tea set with a bride and groom. I moved the covered box of wedding cards to this end of the table. |

| For the centerpiece at this table, I have placed a pair of Love Birds on a pink pedestal and covered them with a wire cloche. I decorated the cloche with crystals and a pretty flower trim. |

| I have the table set with anniversary plates that I have picked up at yard sales over the years for just a few dollars each. The cake toppers that you saw surrounding the centerpiece at the first table, are now placed at each individual place setting. |

| You can also use the anniversary plates and cake toppers to make vignettes at the buffet table, guest book table, or anywhere you want a little "wedding touch" |

| The 50 year wedding cake topper came from my grandparents anniversary party. |

| I found this sweet bride and groom salt and pepper shakers at an antique mall. |
 |
| I live in New Mexico, so cowboy grooms and cowgirl brides are very popular. |

| In place of the bride doll that you saw in the first table, I have put two fan card holders. This is the wedding invitation to my parents wedding back in 1948. Who gets married at 8:00 in the morning..... on Sunday.....wish my mother was here for me to ask her..... |

This is a beautiful post ... and you are so creative! Using those anniversary plates in the place setting is a neat idea ... although it is kind of sad that you can buy those at yard sales! Isn't it?! Thanks so much for sharing this ... it gives me several ideas of ways to treat friends to special anniversary surprise dinners!

How wonderful that you have all those memories of your parents wedding. My sister has anything that was kept from my parents 50th. Nothing at all from the wedding. I don't think they had a family wedding. I believe they went to a Justice of the Peace. Such sweet idea's you have for a celebration. Both parents have been gone for a very long time now. Your imagination never fails to awe me. :) You are just SO creative!

My youngest daughter is planning her wedding right now and I sooooo wish it could be simple days again.

ReplyDeleteHow amazing way to celebrate your parent’s anniversary! I wish I could also do such special things for them. Their 25th anniversary is about to come. I think booking a special vow renewal location and throwing a surprise party would be a good idea. Isn’t it?
