Repurposed Wicker Settee

There comes a time when you have to decide whether to put something in the trash or try to repurpose it.     I had a worn out wicker settee that was headed to the trash....but....could I breath new life into it?    Well,  maybe.

I always pick up good greenery at yard sales when I see it for a dollar or two,  so I had two full totes of greenery taking up space in the studio.    So,  I decided to marry the greenery and wicker settee to make a portable garden.

The bones of the settee were still good but the seat was nearly non existant,    H removed the few pieces of wicker on the seat so I could put together a garden in what was left.

I needed a little more than the few cross bars that were left where the seat was,   so H put a sheet of chicken wire across the seat to make me something to attach my greenery and flowers to.

I love the look of my new garden settee!

I added a hand painted bird house that I bought at an estate sale a few weeks ago.

You may  remember seeing the succulents in the front of the seat from a yard sale post I did a few weeks ago.

My Cottage sign was also purchased at a yard sale a few weeks ago.

Is that another worn out wicker settee on the porch.....I believe it is...lol!     I still have a tote of greenery left,  another bird house,  and some more yard sale flowers so I think I will make a twin!

Be back soon to show you the "twin" and how they look on the porch.

  9. I love how you repurposed the settee. Absolutely charming! I have a miniature settee that was my daughter's 26 years ago and couldn't stand to throw it out even though it was very worn. I'm going to try a remake using your ideas. Hope it comes out cute like yours. You always have the most creative ideas.
