MacKenzie Childs Style Easter Buffet

I have been adding touches of black and white check to some of my Farmstyle decorating and it put me in the mood to use some of it that I had on hand to create a MacKenzie Childs style Easter vignette on the small buffet in the family dining room.

I did a MacKenzie Childs search on Pinterest to look at some boards with photo's of her decorating style.    I found tons of photo's with her black and white signature pattern and I noticed that she also used lots of gold.     So,  I decided to use foil bunnies and gold accented Easter eggs.

I had a black and white checked metal bunny on hand.   Then I made some fabric covered styrofoam eggs using her signature black and white checked fabric mixed with my favorite fabric......pink florals.

I hung and set gold accented eggs on my two new egg stands.

You may remember the egg stand that I bought for $2 at an estate sale last week end.     I gave it a coat of gold paint and sat gold accented eggs in the holders....plus one cute little chick.
I couldn't get a good photo of the eggs stand on the buffet,   so  I moved it to the kitchen counter where there was better lighting.    It is so hard for me to get good photo's in the family dining area because the sun just streams thru the big window.

Next to the egg holder that I showed you in the last picture is the other ornament tree that I bought at the same Estate sale last week end.

I decided not to paint it gold but I did tie some gold ribbon to the "trunk".     I hung gold accented eggs on my tree along with a few gold accented birds.

Here is a close up of the foiled bunnies that I used in my Easter vignette.

I finally shut the blinds and was able to get some better photo's.

I wanted some fresh flowers for my vignette so I went out to the green house and brought in some pots of Daffodils that I hadn't got around to planting yet.

I styled the table that sits next to the buffet in the same MacKenzie Childs style.....can't wait to share it with you!

  9. Penny,
I LOVE the foil bunnies and all the gold!! I was surprised that you painted the egg holder gold and not white though. It looks lovely!! I have the Living room decorated for Easter and I am working on the Dining Room. I am looking for ideas for the buffet because I passed on my Bunny Village to my niece for my 5 year old little great niece. She loves it. So now I can decorate a bit differently in the Dining Room......
    Hugs,
    Deb

  17. Penny, your vignette is adorable. I'm a longtime fan of MacKenzie Childs Courtly Check, so this of course makes me smile. Yes, the gold accents work well with CC. In fact, last Easter I found some golden rabbits while on a trip. I knew they would be perfect with the Courtly Check, and they were.
    Thanks for sharing the fun!
