Make a Basket of Fresh Flowers

I wanted to share some tips on how I fill a basket with fresh flowers.    This is the second time I've filled this basket with flowers and I have a link to the other post at the end of  this one with those tips.

In the first basket I used two blocks of styrofoam side by side..

For this one,   I cut one of the blocks in three pieces and set two milk glass vases in between them.

I filled in all around the vases and blocks of styrofoam with dried grass  (you can find big bags of this at any craft store).     Be sure to pack  the grass in real tight to hold everything in place.

I only used the larger pot of white flowers in this floral design.

I watered it well and tied a grocery bag around it to hold in the moisture.    Then I placed my potted plant on the whole piece of styrofoam in the basket.

I had a mossy rabbit that I wanted to place in the basket,   but when I sat him on the styrofoam.    he sat too far down in the basket.     To solve that problem,  I cut up some small branches to make him a "nest" to sit in.

Now he's level with the rim of the basket where you can see him!

I filled my vases with flowers from the Ornamental Pear trees that line the circular drive in front of the house.    This is one side of the floral design........

And this is the other side.

I wanted to share how pretty these trees are around the drive in our front yard.....

The side of the house.......

You can see the trees go all the way to the street.......

The other side of the drive way.......

And again,  the trees are all the way to the street.

I hope to get out next week and  add some color to the buggy by putting faux flowers in the hay bale you can see behind the seat.

I have enjoyed filling this spring basket with flowers and can't wait to do another one when these flowers wilt.

1st basket............................................................2nd basket

Here is the link I promised with all the details about how I filled this basket with fresh and fake flowers.......http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2017/03/fresh-or-fake.html
