Fish Taco's for Lunch on the Porch

Taco's are a popular lunch here in New Mexico.      My favorite is what we call a street taco........it's a small hand held soft taco that can be filled with anything you can think up.....lol!      Today,   I'm filling ours with tilapia and shrimp.    Before I share the taco's,    I want to show you around the front porch where we will be dining.

I'm going to serve our taco's on a mason jar themed plate,   so I decided to spread some mason jar decor around the front porch.

I started my decorating on the fireplace mantel by filling a mason jar with fresh flowers from the yard.      Then,    I printed off a few mason jar prints that I have on my Pinterest board.

I attached a bird and mason jar print with magnets to my metal envelope.

I made small mason jar banners for the bicycles on each side of the fireplace.

I tied a mason jar banner to the crocheted piece that's in the basket on the front of the bicycle.

I did the same thing on the back bicycle basket.

I have a three wheeler on the other side of the fireplace.

This is the mason jar banner I tied to the front basket on my three wheeler.

Now to get the farm table ready for lunch.......

I  borrowed a centerpiece that I have in the kitchen just to use for lunch.    I'll put it back in the kitchen after we eat.

I have a thin lace tablecloth on the table......simple and sweet......just like our lunch will be!

Paper plates and napkins....sure....why not!

H has been busy in the kitchen fixing lunch while I got the porch ready.      He's making a simple  pineapple/banana salsa for our taco's.
Just slice your banana's and squeeze lime juice over the top of them.    That juice will keep them from turning brown as well as adding a wonderful flavor.
H used about 2 Tbs of sour cream mixed with about a third of a cup of Pina Colada mix  (our's came from Walmart)   Combine everything and you're good to go.

He has fresh chopped cilantro,    guacamole,   fish, and shrimp on the cutting board.      He diced our fish up into bite size pieces,   but you can serve it whole if you like.

We each assemble our own taco's......H doesn't like cilantro or lime juices on his taco    He also made a bowl of coleslaw to put on the taco's and we drizzle sriracha aioli sauce over the taco after it's assembled.

I like to dip my taco in the pineapple banana salsa as I eat it,   so I put the salsa on the side.

I better stop taking pictures and go fill my plate........H is hungry and ready to eat....lol!

After lunch,    we'll do some " porch sittin'  "
