Vintage Pink Poinsettia Tablecloth

I am so excited to show you this vintage tablecloth.  Some sweet lady spent hours and hours sewing all the felt flowers and sequined candles onto this beautiful pink net tablecloth!  I remember when my mother and grandmother made the one I have  in the other dining room..there was no hot glue back then...just hours spent hand stitching each piece.

There aren't any place settings at this holiday table...I wouldn't think of eating on this tablecloth!

You can see my "Santa Loves the Ballet" tree , I have an separate post on it

The pink Cherry and Cable cookie jar belonged to my mother...I gave it to her one year for Christmas.

Look at all the sequins on each candle....sewn on by hand!  I found this beautiful tablecloth in Amarillo, Tx  last Friday at an antique shop....$28.....I grabbed it up and practically ran to the register!

You can see the piano at the other end of the living area....here is the post on it

And you can see the tree's on either side of the fireplace, here is the post on it

This is one of the first Santa heads I bought...quite a few years ago!

Each little poinsettia petal...sewn on by hand!

This tablecloth hangs nearly to the floor, but I wanted the decorative work to be on top of the table... I bunched up the excess net in the center of the table and pleated excess on the sides.

Each pleated side has a bow with sequins in the center and felt leaves..

I have a few bottle brush trees that I decorated with balls and jewelry.

I have a Santa head at each corner....

Fairy godmother ornament...

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas table...come back soon!

  10. Penny I just love your lace tree. You've inspired me to try one of my own on a smaller scale. I have a small grapevine tree and lots of old lace and some lace dresses. I just moved to a new place and I'm going to put one in my room. Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays

  17. Good lawd - look at all the needlework on that tablecloth! You just gave me a great idea for a pretty pink tablecloth I just received as a gift exchange. It has a couple of small stains but I could cover those with some beading ...

  20. I have done my share of stitching. Knowing how much work goes into each piece, it has always troubled me that those works of art and love sell for so little in the antique shops. I am glad you bought this beautiful tablecloth! I want to believe the lady who made it appreciates that you treasure her artistry.
    Blessings to you!
