Spring Buffet

I hung this beautiful painting over the buffet in the dining room.    I  love this picture of two girls out in the field on a spring day...

I decorated the buffet to lead you into the picture...the flowers in the old wooden carpenter box are very similar to the ones in the picture.  I placed a straw hat and a vintage watering can on the buffet.   I thought the girls may have been using them before their stroll in the field...

There are some bunnies in the field...

The bunnies are hunting for carrots that are growing in the grass....

I wanted to show you how I recycled the plastic grass...I had this in the yard and it suffered some sun bleaching.  See how white the grass is on the left...on the right is some I sprayed with this ivy leaf paint...good as new!

Next to the buffet is a hall tree that I have decorated with "Easter" bonnets and a vintage wrought iron bird cage..On the sides of the hall tree are some umbrellas and canes.

The bird cage is in a nest of feathers....

Birds are nesting in some of my vintage hats....

Everyone used to wear a beautiful spring hat to church...

This is the hat that I bought at the auction Saturday for $3.

I am putting some touches of spring in the sun room...be back soon to show you!

  7. The vignette on your buffet is simply delightful. You are so creative to incorporate the decorate items into the theme of the painting to create a seamless transition from one space into another.
