Spring Tablescape

I was in Lowes yesterday getting some more paint  (yes, H is still painting!)  and they had the most gorgeous hydrangeas!  I decided to use them for the centerpiece in the new spring tablescape.

They were only $10 for a large pot of them.  I will enjoy them in the house for a while and then plant them in the garden.

I chose a full size sheet for the table cloth..

It has beautiful embroidery on it.   I got this sheet a few years ago at a yard sale in a big bag marked "grandmas unfinished"  The bag was full of embroidered pieces (all finished) there were two sets of sheet and assorted doilies....$3 for the whole bag!  What a shame that grandmas kids didn't even look at all the work she had done and realized that it was all finished.  I feel truly blessed to be able to enjoy grandmas treasures!

I made a little dessert area on the table...coffee cups and plates for cake after dinner.

I have a cake plate that matches this server...can't find it anywhere!  Does that ever happen to you?  it's not lost, but I can't find it! lol
I wanted to show off my new napkins (10 cents each at an estate sale) so I put the silverware in a caddy.

Each place setting is different...the only thing they have in common is the sweet chintz party plates with matching cup.
I have a set of 4.
See the pretty napkins?  I didn't want to cover them up with silverware!

I used some of my rose dishes on the table...

What is next?  Well.... I put away all of the Easter decor on the buffet, so now it looks so bare!!!  ...I think that I will fill this big bird cage with something spingy........don't know what yet, but I'll think of something!

See you later!

  13. Hi Penny, Your table is gorgeous and how wonderful you found the bag of treasures at the yard sale. It probably was meant to be that you get it since you appreciate the work and it is with a good home. I have all my grandmothers doilies and crocheted lace. I love it all.
The hydrangeas are gorgeous. Mine are about a foot high already in the garden. No blooms yet, but growing tall.
Love the bird cage and I know you will create something springy and special in or around it.
