Breakfast on the Porch

H and I are going to have a late breakfast on the front porch this morning.   The sun is shining and it's 65...a beautiful day!

We can see the Cottage Trailer from our table...and watch all the people go by.  We live on a major street, but the house sits back from the road so there is not too much noise.

For the centerpiece, I am using a fairy garden that I made. I had enough stuff to make two ( show you the other one later)

I've had this music box fairy for a long time...

but, I bought a box of fairy stuff at the auction Saturday for $5.

I got these dishes at a yard sale a few weeks ago...just mix and match...3 plates, 5 soup bowls, and 8 cups for $3

The lady that was selling them took my phone number because she said she had a bunch more that I could have  when she gets them dug out!

the butter dish was $1...

and the tea pot was $2.

We had a wonderful breakfast...see you soon!

  1. Penny,
The size of your porch is amazing and how I would love to have one like that!!

What a sweet Fairy Garden. i did a very feeble attempt at one last year and will try to do better with one this year.
Those dishes are the same type , but only in green, that i used in my hutch for St. Patrick's Day. I just love them.... The blue ones are so pretty. I have to get out to some yard sales. Maybe on Sat. since Joe and I are both off.
I had plans to buy my annuals and plant this weekend but we will be having low temps. in the 30's in the mornings in the beginning of next week so I am afraid of frost....
I will be off for 3 days and have a lot to do..

I know you and your daughter would appreciate my little story about Nurses Week!! LOL!! My knee is still killing me!! LOL!!

    Hugs,
    Deb

  19. Hi... just looking through the posts at Tootsie's site... I grew up in Vermont and porches were a big part of our social life. We now have a gazebo and deck, but I miss the ambiance of a porch loade to the brim with family and neighbors! Larry

  34. Hello Penny,
Wow! I love your outdoor tea! You are way ahead of me. But soon, I am working on it. Your little porch area is so very charming! And I really do love the fairy garden in the center! You did a fabulous job creating that! It all works together so well and creates a feeling of peacefulness. You are a genius!
Those dishes are a real find! They are unique in design. I wonder who manufactured them. Wouldn't that be something if this lady does call and you get the rest? Yay!

  38. What a lovely breakfast. those dishes we had 35 years ago, we live in Ontario Canada and would go to florida for a week or two every winter. I had found a couple of the plates that you have Currier and Ives I believe and found tablesetting for 10 with complete teapot cups n saucers, bowls etc. at the Webster Flea Market. Didn't all come from one dealer, but all over the market. Was so much fun, the hunt was the exciting part. So your post brought back happy memories. God bless...
