I have the table in the sun room....Our Sittin Porch....set for lunch today. I bought this sweet sign at the auction Saturday, and a few other things...lol! |
I have been looking for a Duncan Phyfe table that was not in real good condition....I didn't want to feel guilty when I painted it white! |
So, they had one at the auction that was just what I had been looking for. H was so sweet, he put it at the top of his to do list and got it painted yesterday. |
I paint $60 for the table and $2.50 for the little sign. I can't wait to show you the metal wall lamp that I got for $10. |
I decided it was time for a change in the sun room.... |
so.... we put the wrought iron table and chairs in the studio for a while. |
I set the table with an assortment of dishes that I like.... |
nothing matches.... |
I would love to have a porch enclosed with window and doors for a place to sit and sip tea.
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible find and it looks wonderful painted. I would love to have a room like yours with all that natural light.

ReplyDeletethat makes a lovely setting on the porch. The table was really a bargain. It looks wonderful and so does the fine china. Thank you for sharing this romantic tea time.

ReplyDeleteLove your porch! Dishes are my favorite and i always make a bee line straight for them when i am out. Can i just ask, what did you paint your table with and did you seal it? I am going to paint my kitchen table and trying to figure out the best way to finish it.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I love your posts!
Your sittin' porch is beautiful. I'd love it out there.
ReplyDeletePenny, you have the loveliest porch! And your new DF table looks amazing in white. I would have hesitated too, to paint it. But it looks so good!
ReplyDeleteYour china layered like that is super romantic looking.

Terri
I hope, when we buy a home again (in the next year or two), that we will have one with a sun room. It is a dream of mine. I hope I can decorate it as lovely as yours (with my own theme of course). Yours is truly inviting.

ReplyDeleteBlessings My Friend,
I love your sittin porch! I can picture starting the day there with my cup of tea. Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop. You help to make it so much fun.♥
ReplyDeleteLove your sun porch and the white Table. Did you paint that using Anne Sloan paints? I noticed something that I'm curious about..I noticed that you have all of your silverware placed on the left side of the plate. I was always taught that the fork goes on the left, knife with blade next to plate and spoon beside of knife. My friend who is from Frances and I had a discussion about this same thing..she told me I was wrong. At special occasions, banquets, weddings, etc. I've always seen it like I was taught. Maybe some other followers will have an opinion on this subject matter.

ReplyDeleteHi Pippi21! First, I used Lowes paint for the DF. You are right about the placement of silverware...but, when I am setting the table for a casual lunch with H, I like the look that your friend from France prefers!
