How to Make a Short, Fat Christmas Tree

I have been hunting for a short, fat,  artificial Christmas tree for quite a while....with no luck.   You can find live trees that look like what I wanted,  but I wanted a "forever"  tree.
I also wanted it to have a"fairy forrest" look to it.....I don't ask for much , do I.....LOL!
I also wanted it to have a unique stand.....like this one... which was my inspiration tree.   ( I used an antique wheel chair for my stand.)
I started with a tree that I got at the auction a few weeks ago in a "bundle" that I bought for $7.   The bundle filled the back of the Yukon and all I wanted was the Nativity set.   Anyway,  I was going to donate this tree,  but I got to looking at it and thought....maybe???     So,  I had H put the top and bottom of the tree together as you can see in the first photo (the middle is laying in the floor)    I asked H to cut the middle section of the tree apart and I put the pieces all thru the tree....and the last photo shows how that looked.
Still not exactly what I had visioned....... BUT I remembered the branches that I bought at HL last year at 90% off.    The branches had probably not sold because they were $6 and $10 EACH.....that's alot of money for a branch!   I used $23 of extra branches to complete the look....
See how fat and full my tree is now.....I love it!
I also added some rose sprays that you have seen me use many many times in other vignettes..
Here's what a short fat Christmas tree looks like here in the plains of New Mexico!
When it gets closer to Christmas,  all  I have to do is add the lights and decorations.    For now,   I'll just roll her into the garage...lol!

What a great idea!!! Love how it came out!! You are so darn creative!! I figure that since I already have the Tree up in the Living Room, all I have to do is strip it down to the lights after Halloween is over, slide the platform for the village under it and it is ready to decorate.... Hopefully, that will save me some time. Plus, when I take down the Halloween Tree and Village in the Dining Room, I already have everything for the Buffet for Christmas right up at the top of the attic stairs ready to go because that was everything I used for the Harvest Tea!! I will probably being taking a Blogging Break after Halloween to get decorated for Christmas.......

    Hugs,
    Deb

  7. Wow! Thank you again! I have tree's out in the shed, in the garage...all over the place..and never thought of taking one apart or shortening it. This is such a great idea. I have an idea for a tree that I've had for a couple of years...I may try it. I've created it once...but it's for the living room..but..I should get started on it and soon. I am imagining you you simply attached the extra greenery to the other branches...I shall give it a try...now I'm ALL EXCITED! All of the tree's are already lit...so..not sure how that part will go. Again..thanks Penny, for the great idea's...can't wait to get out my ME tea pot and mugs! :)
    Love,
    Mona
