Christmas Decor Down....Spring Up?

I always dread taking down the Christmas decorations.....first,  because I enjoy them so much......and second,  because I have a hard time deciding what decor to use in all those blank spaces that are left.       I see some bloggers using a winter theme for  the mantle and other rooms in their home.

Our winters are usually pretty mild here in eastern New Mexico,     What I really want to do is get out my spring stuff....lol!  So,  my Christmas is still out and I am waiting for some inspiration to get me moving!

I had some new chandeliers to hang so........

If one chandy is good.                                                   three must be better....lol!
The chandelier in the photo on the left has been moved to the studio and hung over the work table.   The family dining area in the photo on the right now has one big chandelier and two smaller ones that coordinate are on the south wall.   The three chandys were auction purchases this past fall.

I did a post on the big chandelier earlier showing how I blinged it up with some Christmas tree decorations.     I applied  similar bling to the two smaller ones.

I don't have any New Years resolutions or a word for 2015,   but I do have a couple of boards to pin some of my favorite things on in 2015.    I also plan to have Kyleigh pin some of her school work on these pretty boards instead of putting her favorite papers on the refrigerator.

I bought two fabric covered padded boards and two small empty picture frames (not shown)  at the auction in a "bundle" for a dollar.

One is covered in pink moire and one has a cream colored moire.    I also purchased two easels that same day for $4 each..

I have put a "cow" egg in a nest under a lamp shade cloche......see how my decorating at this time of year tends to be spring like?

I have the table set with some of my favorite dishes.....

I haven't been able to find the name of this pattern......if you happen to know it.....please let me know!

While I have been busy taking photos and writing this post .    H has been busy in the kitchen painting the cabinets.   He is painting the inside of the cabinets a pretty pink......Behr,  Powdered Blush.   The photo on the left shows the new color.....the photo on the right shows the dark wood that the cabinets originally were.   When we painted the cabinets years ago,   we didn't do the inside!   Shame on me!

    Gros bisous ♡

  3. Penny,
Well, you know here in the Northeast that we will not be seeing any signs of Spring until April at least!! We had snow on Sat., then rain and temps. near 50 , now snow is predicted for this morning with a high in the 20's only..... More snow for Sunday......I am not sure if I will get to my Valentine Decorations this year. It may take the whole month of Jan. to take down Christmas and I am in no hurry. I am slowing down this year and trying not to move at the speed of light like I have been.
Now...LOVE those chandys.....and those dishes and those boards are fantastic!! We did not paint the inside of our cabinets and they are still the black walnut that they were originally. Maybe when Joe retires, that will be something for him to do to keep busy. Wink Wink!! LOL!!

    Hugs,
    Deb

  12. We have snow here so Winter décor is perfect after Christmas. I don't think I could do it if I lived where it was warm. Would just seem silly to me. Although your décor leans towards Spring I think it's fine for every day as well. The chandys are lovely. Next week I will pull out my Valentines. I'm ready for a change. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
    Jann
