Al Fresco Dining on the Porch

My favorite place to serve meals to the family  is at the farmhouse table on the front porch..... and  I couldn't wait to use my new place mats in a tablescape for a family dinner.

I found my new place mats at Walmart for $2 .... they are reversible and can be cleaned with a damp cloth since they are vinyl,  love that!    Here is side 1.....

and here is side 2.

For an easy clean up after dinner,  I am using paper plates.
For side 1 of the place mats,   I used pink and white polka dot plates.....chevon and floral salad plates ......and plastic aqua handled silverware

For side two place mats,  I used aqua ball jar plates with plastic pink handled silverware.     For the family members that don't like salad  ....this is where you can sit...lol!

I have extra silverware in a chicken wire caddy.

I have 5 mason jars filled with small rose bouquets on a tablerunner for a simple centerpiece..

I didn't want to cover up all of my pretty new place mats,  so I didn't set a place setting on all of them.    I have extra  plates,  napkins,  and silverware on a tea cart at the end of the table that I can pass around when we sit down to eat.     I shared a close up of my chicken wire silverware caddy earlier.....I kinda got my photo's out of order!

I covered the fireplace mantel with a quilted lap throw that has the same colors that I used in my tablescape.

A basket of flowers.....two bird houses.....a couple of birds and two sprays of flowers complete my fireplace mantel

Now,     I can just relax until time for dinner!

  3. Oh, I wanted to know about your umbrella? Did you put a handmade top on it? It looks so cute. I have some vintage curtains and tablecloths that I was going to use on some of my umbrellas but I haven't gotten to them yet. Just wondering about yours. Very cute.
