Ladder Love and a Chicken wire Lampshade

I am slowly adding touches of Farmhouse/ Romantic Prairie style decor to the family room.  I found a very rustic iron and wood coffee table at a yard sale Saturday that I can't wait to show you!    But today,   I wanted to share what I've changed in what I call "H's" side of the family room.

I started by taking the frilly shade off of his lamp.......

H drilled a hole in the top of one of my chicken wire cloche's so I could attach it to the existing lamp base.     I found a second identical cloche at a yard sale a few weeks ago,   so he drilled a hole in it too so I could have one like his on my side of the room.

I gave the cloche some romantic touches by adding a satin bow.....

hanging some odds and ends crystals around and on it......

Then,   I put a vintage style light bulb in to give off a romantic glow.

I did a post earlier this month showing how I used this same cloche as a base for a floral design.

I am going to make a few changes to the sofa and wall above it.....but that's another story!

I don't remember when I didn't have this ladder or where I got it from,   but I just love it!    It goes clear to the ceiling!

H brought it in from the yard....cleaned it up......and now I have it decorated in a corner of the family room

Before..................................................................................................After

I hung a large piece of crochet on the top rung......Tied a small cotton boll wreath.....hung some metal FARM letters on the crocheted piece.......and lastly hung a flannel pink and black throw on one of the other rungs.

Love the weathered look that the ladder got while it was outside

H has a large round table next to his chair and then I've added a carousel of smaller tables around the larger one to give him plenty of space for all his stuff.

A small printers tray holds keys and any other smaller objects

Enamel pan for his kleenex......

And a smaller enamel pan for the remote and his mouse.
I put away some of his stuff for the photo,  but trust me....all these tables are full when he's in his chair....lol!

So,  now you know where H hangs out when he's not busy .....which is not very often during the day.   But you can nearly always find him here in the evening!
