Fall Bedding and Pumpkins

As the nights are getting cooler,   I decided it was time to put a few extra layers of bedding on the bed in the master bedroom.

I added a pink furry rug to the side of the bed and have something different under the fireplace mantel.    Since it is a faux fireplace,   I used a large canvass print for the fireplace screen.    You may remember this print hung over the sofa in the family room.
I get asked all the time about where I store everything.......well,   I do have lots of storage here at casa Phillips but lots of the time I just move it to another area to create a new look.

Spring/Summer bedding..............................Fall/Winter bedding

I have a king size rose pattered   blanket on my queen bed.....no one gets short sheeted around here....lol!     It's hard ....maybe impossible.....to hog all the covers with an oversized blanket on the bed.    Over the blanket,   I have a soft pink ruffed comforter.

I had ordered in this pretty Christmas pillow from Society 6 and it came in the other day.     I couldn't resist putting it on the bed....who says you can't use poinsettia's in the fall!

At the end of the bed,   I have a chicken wire truck filled with pumpkins.....

It is so hard to photograph velvet,   but trust me....the pumpkin is  a pretty shade of burgundy.

On one side of the bed,   I have my mothers doll house that was a Christmas gift from me a long time ago.    It came unassembled and it took me a long time to put it together,  paint it,  and add all the furniture!

You can see it reflected in the mirror on the wall at the end of the bed.

Here is the table on the other side of the bed.....

Next to the table by the bed is a chair and a lit cross that I made several years ago.

I added some small pumpkins to the existing vignette on the mantel...

I won't change much of the mantel for Christmas,    just add to the existing decor.

I want to add some lights to the mantel for Christmas.......

Some decorated bottle brush trees will look pretty ......

Wish I could find a Santa small enough to fit in my pink Caddy!

I may even put some lights under the can can at the end of the bed.

The sun is going down now and the lights on the cross look so pretty......

  1. Your bedroom looks so romantic and calming, very peaceful place to lay your head after the end of a long day. Love the covering you have on the table at the end of your bed

  2. I enjoy looking at your home but I will never use any of your ideas. My husband is against any extra "stuff" sitting around. I think he might have been from the Shaker faith in an earlier life. No fluff, no ruffles, no cute stuff, etc. I will keep him as I have had him for 53 years and have accepted this life with a happy heart, since he is wonderful in so many ways. But I can't help but wonder where you found a man that will gladly pick up items and will spread pink paint on anything that stays still long enough.
