Decorating with Tobacco Baskets

I took advantage of Hobby Lobby's 80% sale on all the remaining spring and summer decor to pick up some tobacco baskets.

Two white oblong ones found a home on each side of the mirror over the sofa in the family room.

I filled each of the baskets with a bush of pale pink roses.

I left the rose bush intact and just tied it to the tobacco basket.     I tied a cloth ribbon to the big stem at the bottom of the bush to conceal it.

This was such an  easy project......30 minutes from start to finish.

I bought one big white tobacco basket.

It found a home under the coffee table in the family room.       I may put something in it later,   but for now I like the simplicity of it empty.

The last two tobacco baskets found a home on the shelves in the table at the end of the sofa.

I used one under the table to keep unused pillows from getting dirty laying on the floor.     The other basket is on the upper shelf and I haven't filled it yet......maybe some of my magazines that I love to look thru for decorating ideas.

These baskets were a natural color and have a decorative metal strip across them.

The recliner on this end of the sofa is where I sit with my laptop and do all my computer "stuff".      I edit pictures......write blog posts......surf the internet.       My printer is under the end table next to the sofa so I guess you might say this is my office....lol!

I have a second end table next to my chair that I cleaned up for the photo's......it usually is littered with all kinds of things.

From my chair,   I can see thru the sun room and out into the back yard.     I have a vintage quilt that I pull across the opening at night for privacy.

Til next time........

  5. Oh, I am so glad I found your blog via Pink Saturday because I LOVE everything about it! I have some tobacco baskets from when I lived in NC and cannot wait until we build our house to use them to decorate. Right now our house is too small for all the stuff we have.
