Transitioning from Christmas to Winter Decor

I have a routine that I follow each year to transition from Christmas to Winter decor.       The first thing I do is get all the Santa's from each room gathered up and packed away.

Since I only decorate with red at Christmas,    I gather up all the red decor and pack it away.     That leaves me with the decorated tree's.     I strip them down and pack away all the ornaments.       Some of the tree's will get boxed up and put away,   but I keep out a few small "naked" tree's to use in my Winter decor.

Now  the fun part starts,    decorating some of the rooms for winter.        I used pink pine cones in my vignette on the piano so I thought I would share how I painted them with you guys.

H inserts a cup hook into the bottom of the pine cone.     Holding your pine cone by  the cup hook,    just dip your pine cone in a cup of paint..          H hung a branch across a box to hang the pine cones on to drip.....and drip......and finally dry.     It's a pretty messy job,   but well worth it if you want some pink pine cones.      White painted pine cones are pretty too!

Let it snow!

I hung a couple of frosted pine garlands on the wall candelabra sconce.       I used the cup hooks on the pink pine cones to hang them on the garland.

I found a snow flake banner on Pinterest and printed it off on my home printer.     

I hung a Music is Life canvas picture across the front of the piano

If you peek around the corner into the sun room,   you can see stacks of totes full of Christmas  decor ready to go to the studio for another year.           The house would feel so bare when the Christmas decor is put away if I didn't decorate for winter!

The fireplace mantel looks bare without all the Christmas decor,     I can't wait to decorate it tomorrow!       We are expecting snow here in Eastern New Mexico the next few days,    so  I'll just stay warm at home and enjoy decorating for Winter!
