New Wall Decor & Rug for the Sun Room

I only have one furniture arrangement that I like in the sun room,    so any changes made to freshen it up are pretty much limited to the accessories and wall decor.    Since two walls are french doors,   that only leaves me 2 walls to decorate.

I started my little makeover by clearing off everything I had hanging on the door over the sofa.    The wall behind the sofa is brick,   so I hung a door on it to give me some flexibility when I put up new wall decor.

I am still limited somewhat by the door,   but not nearly as much as I am trying to put wall decor on a brick wall.    Can't just drill holes willy nilly in a brick wall.....lol!

I decided to hang the tobacco basket back on the wall.....I know....I know.....I just took it down!     I had a store bought  magnolia wreath on it before,   so I changed it up a little bit by creating a sunflower floral design on it myself

I began the construction of my wreath by wiring a cotton boll garland around the edges of it.    Then,   I wired a black and white buffalo check bow to my tobacco basket.
Then the fun begins as I start filling in the spaces with sun flowers.    I love all the new colors sun flowers are now available in   and I took full advantage of it!    The burgundy ones are so pretty as are the neutral colored ones.

I also found green ones.......and the one in the left bottom corner is kinda of a goldish color.    My wreath wouldn't be complete without pink and white sunflowers would it?

I have found a good assortment of the pretty colored sunflowers at Hobby Lobby,   Michael's,    Joann's and At Home.

I hung a pink square tobacco basket on each side of my wreath.

These were so easy to make.     I framed my print with back of the tobacco basket.......

Two pretty pink clothes pins to hold my print on .....and I'm done!

I frequently use calendar prints in my decor.    I found the 2020 "Truckin' Along"  calendar at Hobby Lobby and of course   I used my 40% off  weekly coupon.

I have lots of traffic thru the sun room,   and it was time to replace the rug.

I found a Laura Ashley rug at Sam's in a color that I liked.

Love the look of my new rug!

Another change?    I put the pink marble coffee table top under the sofa and put a weathered wire spool side in it's place

I don't think I've ever shown you how the barn door curtain looks from this side.     Since I don't have any window coverings in the sun room,  you can see us sitting in the family room after dark.    I always pull the curtain across for privacy

You may have noticed that I've changed the pillows around during my post.

I think just something as simple as changing the pillows out can refresh a room so much.     I like the pink,,,,,I like the grey.....and I may have to got out to the studio and dig out the red ones that are packed away in the Christmas decor because I like them too!

I always enjoy your visits so much,    please come back again soon!

  10. Penny,
You know that your sun room is one of my favorite rooms in your house!! I love the changes you made but what really caught my eye was the truck prints that you attached to the tobacco baskets. I think the red and checked pillows would love lovely but you know me, I am a lover of color and red is one of my favorites!! And as I have said many times before I wish I had a Sun room like yours!!
