I've been waiting months to put our chickens out in the back yard...... |

Well, they aren't exactly real chickens, but they're as close as I can have in town without violating the ordinances in our neighborhood! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw they were 90% off at Tractor Supply a couple of months ago. I bought 2 of them and then went back in and bought the other 2! They were Christmas clearance so they had red Santa hats on......those had to come off so I could use them in the yard year round. They also have lights in them since they were made to use at Christmas. I'll put their hats back on and light them up for Christmas this year! In the mean time, they will spend the summer in the back yard. |

H fertilized the grass last week and then we had about 4 days straight that it rained. The grass looks great! And a lot of the spring plants are beginning to pop out of the ground. |

H and I have been cleaning the flower bed so they will be ready when we can finally go to the garden center again. |
 |
We've found lots of fun things to do while we've been confined to the house..... |

Stay home....Stay safe is sometimes hard to swallow, but being outside helps alot |

ReplyDeleteI also thought the chickens were real. What a great deal!We have been staying most of the time,Hubby goes out. The day this outbreak came to light I was in the hospital with an cold, I have C.O.P.D. so colds put me in the hospital. They had the kit to test and I came up negative, I told the DR to get me out of there, after 2 days they did. We got the first case of the virus here yesterday. I hope you and H stay well, as everyone else.

Good morning, Penny, Love, love the hens. I noticed your little violets peaking up. I love violets, but they are so hard to find. I found where I can order seeds and they are so expensive.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why they went out of vogue. When I was a teenager my mother, sister and I lived with an elderly lady friend of my grandfather's. She and her husband had been long time friends of my grandfather. She had her entire yard outlined in these beautiful violets some white, but mostly dark purple. They bloomed constantly. I would dig up a handful and fill in any blank spots for her. I would have a yard full instead of grass. Next to her house there was an apple and cherry orchard. This time of the year everything was starting to bloom and it was like a fairy land of blossoms. She had this 2 story Victorian house and we lived upstairs. What great memories you have evoked in me with just that little violet. Thanks for bringing that out this Monday morning.
