Vintage Sewing Machine Drawer Repurposed into a Christmas Planner

I have always depended on a planner to help keep me organized .....especially during the Christmas holidays.     In the past I have used a plain bound planner,   but I decided this Christmas season I would use something a little different.    I had so much fun creating a custom Christmas Planner to use over the holidays     Handmade is always the best....don't you think!

I gave it some thought and decided that my desk in the utility room would be the best place to keep my planner.    This is where I put my makeup on and do my hair every morning,   so I can multi task by making notes at the same time.

My Christmas Planner is what you might describe as deconstructed since it isn't bound.....

I can easily pull out only the section that I need.....Food.....Gifts.....Shopping.....

In addition to the sections in the front of the vintage sewing machine drawer,    I have 2 metal envelopes in the back of the drawer.     You can't have too many little compartments to put stuff in can you! 

Here's how my Christmas Planner drawer looks from the side.

The first section I created is for food.....Recipe cards, meal planning,  and grocery lists.

The next section is for my Handmade gift's ,,,,,,I have a sheet to list who I plan to make gifts for.  

 I put pockets on the cards I made to store my Handmade tags in.    I love the personal touch that my tags will add to the gift

I have a couple of different sheets to make notes on.      I have a card list and an Email list too  

I have a Shopping list and I made a card to put my Receipts in......

I have a November & December calendar in my Christmas Planner.......

I plan to make some of the Christmas cards I'm gong to send out,  so I have prints in both of the metal envelopes in my sewing drawer.    I know just who I plan to send a card with the cute little doggy on it!

I'm glad I still have plenty of room in my Christmas Planner because I just realized that I need to create a sheet to list who I need to buy gifts for and what I want to get them!!!!!   I will add that sheet to the section that has my shopping list and receipt envelope.

In a couple of weeks I will complete the holiday feel in this room by adding a few simple touches of Christmas to the existing decor......be back soon to share how it looks when I'm finished!
