Christmas Sittin' Porch

I normally refer to this room as the sun room,   but when the French doors are open on two walls it feels like you are outdoors so it kind of becomes a sittin' porch...lol!

Whether you call it a sun room or a sittin' porch.....H & I spend a lot of time out here.    I've been getting it all decked out for Christmas and I'm about 2/3's of the way done.    I was careful not to share a pic of my undecorated tree in the corner,   but I should be back soon with a tour of the entire room decorated for Christmas.

I began decorating this are of the room by hanging one of my favorite pictures over the sofa.    I've had this Christmas scene for several years and the tree lights up and gives the wall a nice glow in the evening.   Every good and perfect thing is from above......

I decorated the coffee table in front of the sofa with a simple centerpiece.....a wooden box full of dried babies breath placed in the center of a white fur wreath.    The string of battery operated lights that I laid on the top of the wreath look so pretty in the evening.

How fun is this pillow with a pick up being pulled by 2 reindeer!

After I finished decorating above and on the sofa,   I worked on the right of it.....

I took the lemons out of the tree and replaced them with red berry branches.

I placed a Santa hat on my giraffe for the finishing touch on this side of the sofa.....

Now for the other side of the sofa......

H brought in a ladder for me to hang a couple of cow prints on.....

A Santa on the end table completes the Christmas decor on this side.

This coming week is supposed to be in the 60/70's here in Eastern New Mexico,    so we'll be sittin' on the porch enjoying the weather!

  1. Penny, your Sittin' Porch makes me happy just to look at it! My goodness! I love the picture so much. Abd my dad would have really been in favor of all the farm trucks out in holiday decor, I think we had almost every color of [pickup except red (and pink!)... but he had an old blue-grey 47 Chevy that makes my heart melt! Have fun. I will be looking forward to all your posts so much! Take care!

  2. What a lovely room. I would love a sun room or even a screened in porch area. The sun room would be far more practical in our area. I love the feel of sitting in those areas. You have decorated in beautifully.
