Chicken Vignettes in the Kitchen and a little Valentine Decor

It's always so hard to decide how to decorate after the Christmas isn't it?    In past years I have tended to lean toward a frosty winter theme,   but this year I just wasn't feeling it.     I fell in love with a sweet chicken picture in the new spring section of Hobby Lobby recently and decided to use it as the theme piece for my new year kitchen.   As I started decorating the kitchen counters.   I found myself adding a little Valentine Day to each vignette.

On this section of the kitchen counter......

I have a rooster print,   2 little yellow chicks,   and 3 floral chicken eggs laid in a nest.

Included in my vignette is a floral design that I already had on hand that I added a cow hide LOVE sign to.      I used metal tape to attach a LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED print to the front of my floral container.

In the next section of kitchen counter I used the picture that I fell in love with at Hobby Lobby in my vignette.

Gather,   Eat,   Repeat

To tie my picture in with the earlier vignette,   I placed 2 little white chicks and a nest of floral eggs in front of my picture.

The last piece I used in my vignette is an old metal chicken feeder that I bought at a yard sale several years ago.

I used metal tape to attach a Valentine that I made a couple of years ago to it.

Moving on to the stove top......

I created a vignette on my noodle board using a couple of pink roosters and the white barn that I bought in the Christmas section of Hobby Lobby at the beginning of the season.

The new fabric that I recently put on my noodle board came from the Valentine fabric section at Hobby Lobby.    Yes,   I do purchase quite a few of my decorating pieces from HL,    NO,   I am not compensated by HL in any way....I just like to shop there.       The sweet sign says   "I would love to ask you to be my Valentine but I'm just a little chicken"

This is the last section of counter in the kitchen......

The vignette I created on this section of counter carries on the chicken/Valentine theme I am using in the kitchen.

The Rooster has a ribbon on that says "kiss me hard"      I put it on him so H will see it every morning when he gets his coffee....lol!

Love is all you need...right?   PS....don't forget to love yourself too....

  6. Penny, Hope you and Mr H are regaining your energy and on the mends. 2021 was not a good year for us older folks in many ways not just health. I pray we all have a better 2022.
I LOVE, LOVE CHICKENS. When I was little I would play with the old hens. They would scratch up the dirt; it would fine and fluffy like a nest. They would settled down and cool off. When they got up I was in their dirt scooping it up for making mud pies. We had lots of fun together. They will talk to also when you are around them. Mother always had chickens when we lived on a farm. There is nothing like farm fresh eggs. My niece has a farm with lots of chickens, ducks etc. She has a duck that thinks she is one of the dogs and goes in the house with them at night. My niece says it is really funny to watch her.
Your little vignettes are so sweet and bring back wonderful memories.
Thank you for sharing with all of us.
