Bunnies & Bluebonnets

Our son and his family live in San Antonio,  Texas & my favorite time to visit them is in the spring when the fields of Bluebonnets are in full bloom.     We are planning a visit in a few weeks & I am so excited....I can't wait to see them and the Bluebonnets too!

Our upcoming visit gave me the inspiration for a spring vignette I created for the entry.......

My sweet ceramic bunnies have not made an appearance in several years....somehow they got packed away in the wrong tote and have been lost for a long time.    I was thrilled when I came across them the other day in a Christmas tote....how did they get in there????    Yep,   I am just now finishing up packing away all of the Christmas decor...lol!

I used used plenty of faux Bluebonnets in the floral design I created to go with my newly found bunnies

Along with other spring flowers,   I filled my pink chicken wire basket with Easter eggs....

I have about every color of fabric carrots known to man,   but I didn't have any blue and white ones.    Just before I gave up and was making plans to make some,    I found these at Home Goods the other day.   They were $6 for a bunch of 3 carrots.....I'm not sure I could make them for that and my time is worth something!

Here's some of the fabric carrots I made a few years ago when all I could find in the stores were orange carrots

I am pleased with the way my picture and floral design kind of go together.....

H recently put new doors on the storage cabinet under this big mirror.    If you missed that post with all the details,   here's a link to it......http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2022/02/out-with-oldin-with-new-farmhouse.html#more

The skies are blue....the sun is shining.....the wind is calm.....and we're expecting a high of 70 degrees here in Eastern New Mexico today!    It's going to be a great day!

  4. Oh my gosh Penny! This is gorgeous! My bestie is from Texas and the bluebonnets are just so beautiful. I spend way more time at Home Goods then I should but I haven't seen the blue carrots. I'm going to a different one tomorrow now since you've inspired me to try something similar for her birthday this month. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
