Duck Bunny Centerpiece, Recipe for Happiness, & More

I picked up a few plants at the garden center recently and they found a temporary home in a tiered plant stand that is usually in the yard.

Here's where it was last summer.....in front of the Sanctuary.    I've had that tiered stand so many years I can't think of an area in the yard that it hasn't been....lol!

The top basket of the tiered stand usually has a potted plant in it,   but I decided to use it in a little different way this time.    I sat a big nest on it and used the nest as the container for my Duck Bunny centerpiece.     The nest has 3 little eggs glued into the center of it,   so I had to create my spring floral design around them.   I sat my duck to one side and a potted plant on the other side of the eggs.    I auditioned several potted plants and finally decided on the one you see now.

I think the little duck with the cute bunny ears and yellow checked hoody is about the sweetest thing I've found in a long time.     (He's from Home Goods.....love to shop there)

A tall single tulip auditioned for the position next to the duck,   but was taller than the duck so I ruled it out.....

I tried a bigger pot of tulips and didn't like it very much either.     You can see the "didn't work out" ones forming a line on the counter next to the Hoosier.

The last one I tried was a vintage flower sifter filled with a live plant......the sifter was too big around to fit nicely in the area to the side of the eggs.

The sifter found a home here instead of in the didn't work out line.....lol!

Yep,  the sifter moved over to where the pick up sign was.

The sunny window in the kitchen will be a perfect spot for my plants until it's warm enough for them to be outside.

After my visit to the garden center and Home Goods,   I decided to run by Cracker Barrel.   I was looking for a new blouse....yes,  a blouse....they have really cute clothes in there.   I didn't find a blouse but I spotted a Recipe for Happiness sign and thought it would look perfect in the kitchen.

I love it!

Don't  you agree that the single tulip was too tall?   The sifter and other potted tulips were too big around......

This little pot of tulips was just right!

It's supposed to be in the 70's today and just a little breeze.....so our plan is to get the patio furniture out of storage and onto the concreted area in front of the Sanctuary.

It's beginning to feel like spring!
