Repurposed Headboard

I think H and I bought this king size headboard about 1980, it's hard to remember back that far...lol!    We used it as a headboard for about 20 years and finally bought a new bedroom set.       I loved this old headboard and I couldn't bear to part with it...so we've kept it...all these years!    It was in storage until about 7 years ago....til I came up with the idea of using  it as an ornamental piece in the yard.



Our headboard was originally a walnut color, but I wanted it white, so H gave it a couple of coats of good house trim paint.   It has been out side about seven years and has held up well with a fresh coat of paint every couple of years.

First, it was leaned up against a tree up by the front porch.  When we added on the new front porch, ....



our headboard got moved to the end of the driveway.



Now, H has painted it pink....

moved it to the backyard....



and will use it ....

to dress up our new green house!

I am so excited....it won't be much longer til it is finished and I can show you what a wonderful job H has done!
