Playing in the Sunroom

I've been playing in the sun room this morning.      I wanted to add some subtle touches of spring,   with just a hint of Easter.   I started by putting some bunnies on the coffee table....

then I added a bunny pillow to the sofa.....

I wanted to show you a close up of the embroidered spring cloth that is under the bunnies on the coffee table......$4 at a yard sale..  isn't it beautiful!

I put  some refreshments on the side table to snack on while I'm told H that I was!)
I have some ginger snap cookies on a bunny plate that I will  munch on and a cup of hot chocolate with pink marshmallows to sip on.      The hot chocolate is in a cute FF bunny cup from 1991.     I filled the Easter pitcher with flowers to use as the center piece for my snack.
I chose a blue bird scarf to serve our  (H and I are sharing)  snack on because blue birds are the theme for my table setting.

Here's the new table setting.....I kept the same table cloth and left the chairs 'dressed" in their vintage table cloths....

For each place setting,  I have layered my favorite white plates and  used a paper plate on top to serve the salad on.   I got these sweet plates at Tuesday go to place for inexpensive plates!

And last,   I added a couple of bunnies to this side of the sun room....

I'm done playing in the sun room!!!
Now,  I'm going to relax in my big comfy pink chair,  sip  my hot chocolate,  eat my ginger snaps,  and look out the door at my beautiful new green house!
H has been outside fertilizing the grass this morning,  it's really starting to get green.   I worked in the green house yesterday......I got some tomatoes planted,  bell peppers,  lettuce, and radish     The squash seeds have been soaking over night and I plan to get them planted today and also some wildflower seed.

 I'd better get busy!

  1. Bonsoir,
Un très joli billet rempli de fraîcheur et de délicatesse... Je crois que je vais m'inviter pour une dégustation de chocolat chaud accompagné de guimauves ! Hum ! J'en ai l'eau à la bouche ♥
    Gros bisous à vous

  2. Love all of it!! I so wish I had a room like this!! We did not get any snow on Monday like they had predicted and except for a few piles, all the snow is gone. It is in the high 40's today which is nice since it never got out of the 20's on Sunday!!

  3. Lovely! Your home is so bright and cheerful!

  4. I adore to see the romantic corners of your beautiful home. The dresses of the chairs are marvellous, the tablecloth is dreamy and the paper plate is so cute. The last photo is just gorgeous!

  5. What a pretty place, Penny. It looks like Spring there to me! xo Diana

  6. How pretty! How sweet! I love the fresh like Spring feeling that I get when I look at this. The freshly ironed linen. I don't know how you guys do it. I need a new iron. Mine makes a mess on my pretties. This is beautiful. I'm singing, "Let the Sun Shine In."

  7. Well, your post is an inspiration! I think I need to do something in my sunroom! Just beautiful, and I love your photos!

  8. I love all your bunnies and birdies. That sunroom looks so inviting I could just curl up there and take a nap! Beautiful home and treasures!

  9. Ahhhhh! So Inviting! What time is lunch? LOL! Love the bunnies and settings! So warm and Spring-ful!
I have a big question.....where oh where do you keep storage of your 'seasonal' type items....??? ;)

    1. Hi Roxanne, Lunch is always around 1:00....come on over! Where do I store it all...our lot is big and we have some "out" buildings. I have a 10 X 12 Tuff shed that is mostly full of Christmas decor, H has a 10 x 12 Tuff shed for his stuff, there is a studio ( 24 x 24) that has tons of storage and then our home has lots of built in cabinets in the garage. Hugs, Penny.

  10. Everything is so pretty and ready for spring. Love the embroidered pieces! Thank you for sharing at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a lovely week! ~Deborah

  11. I think that subtly, as you said is the key to any decorating. It lets you see the beautiful pieces around you. Joanne

  12. Penny,
Love your sun room! I love shabby chic decorating.
Love the pink chenille on the chair.
I found a vintage chenille spread last week at the flea market for $20. Near mint condition. No holes or wear spots. It's a lighter pink with awesome fringe. When I found it I thought "slip cover"! for my husband's ugly lazy chair. I found an old pink needle point pillow to go with it! Not sure my hubby will like it..... but, I will LOVE it!
    Until next time....

  13. Hi Penny
I love your spring table. The the embroidered spring cloth that is under the bunnies on the coffee table is lovely. Those roses make me long so for spring. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us at Wake Up Wednesday Linky Party.

  15. Very elegant and gorgeous!! (sadly, not our household style -- all I could think is "the cats would have a heyday!")

  16. What a lovely sun room! Mine is presently used as storage, but this makes me want to go clean it out immediately!

I followed your link-up at Home and Garden Thursday!

  18. So those plates.

  19. What a fun room to play in. I especial like the blue bird tablecloth. You have the best luck finding bargains! Happy Pink Saturday!

  20. Your sunroom is just so pretty!

  21. Absolutely charming---everywhere I look, there's a whimsical or romantic or Springtime touch to savor. I've just looked my eyes full of all the beautiful welcome in this room---the bright and the beautiful of it is sweetly saying, "Do come in; we've been waiting just for YOU."

And the cloths--simply exquisite. I must get out some of the ones I've been saving through all this dark Winter---they will add to the Spring in the house. You've just been a fountain of inspiration as I try to bring a bit of the whimsy and charm to our own home.

Rachel, off to get out the LONG bunny-pillow and some lace
