Inside the Summer Greenhouse

The inside of the greenhouse looks very different in the summer and fall than it does in the spring and winter.

In the spring the greenhouse is full of plants waiting for it to warm up enough for them to permanently move outside.    In the winter,    the greenhouse is used to store back yard decor.     But,   in the summer and fall the greenhouse is used for relaxing and entertaining.

New Metal Roof on the Greenhouse and a Sneak Peek of the Inside

Back on April 9th,    I shared the progress I was making on my mini makeover in the greenhouse.       I got busy with life....lol......and put my makeover on hold.       Fast forward to April 29th ...........we had a big storm and the greenhouse roof suffered a lot of hail damage.      Almost all of the panels had hail damage and the entire top section of the  roof had to be replaced.     H decided that he would put a metal roof on the greenhouse this time to avoid hail damage in the future.

Week End Treasure Hunt

I had a pretty successful treasure hunt this week end.
I can always use vintage dishes in my decorating and tablescapes......and I love it when I can find pretty floral fabric to decorate with.      I use sheets and bedspreads all the time as an inexpensive way to recover furniture pieces.

Fish Taco's for Lunch on the Porch

Taco's are a popular lunch here in New Mexico.      My favorite is what we call a street taco........it's a small hand held soft taco that can be filled with anything you can think up.....lol!      Today,   I'm filling ours with tilapia and shrimp.    Before I share the taco's,    I want to show you around the front porch where we will be dining.

Gardening in the Southwest

I live in the Southwest.....Eastern New Mexico to be exact.
We get very little rain,   so it's kind of tricky to plan your gardens and flower beds.     You either have to plant drought resistant flowers or have a plan on how to keep your flowers or garden watered.      Most people have an in ground sprinkler system that is on a timer and waters every couple of days.    Of course,   there's always the option of hand watering your garden with a hose.

Wire Spool Coffee Table and Clock Birdhouse for the Deck

I'm still tweaking the new deck .......hope you aren't tired of seeing it!      I wanted to have a small coffee table between the two wicker settee's,    but I didn't want it to be very tall and block the view of the fireplace.     I have a clear view of the deck from my recliner in the family room....lol!

Filling the Empty Space my Herb Garden Left

The herb garden I had in the kitchen window didn't do as well as I had hoped,    so I moved it outside.      All the herb plants are flourishing outside,   but now I just have a big empty place in the kitchen where they used to be.

The Little Family on the Prairie and at the Lake Memorial Day

You have to drive about 80 miles through the prairie to get to the lake here in Eastern New Mexico......lol!     So,   we loaded up all of the family in three cars and headed for the lake.

New Deck Reveal

Our old deck was beyond the point of repair and needed to be completely replaced.       After several days of demolition,   H started construction of the new deck which took about a week.     Now,    I am excited to share our new deck with you

I dressed my rusty old bicycle up for Memorial Day with a pastel stars and stripes banner and  three baskets full of pink geraniums.
