How to Make a Short, Fat Christmas Tree

I have been hunting for a short, fat,  artificial Christmas tree for quite a while....with no luck.   You can find live trees that look like what I wanted,  but I wanted a "forever"  tree.

Halloween Home Tour

My Halloween Home Tour for 2014 is a little different than what I've done in the past.    I have photos of our home from this year and years past.  My decorating style has changed a little and my picture taking skills have improved alot...lol!

Making Room for the Christmas Tree

This is the time of year that I start planning how I want to decorate the house for Christmas....where I will place trees....wreaths...vignettes...and other holiday decor.     The tree is always my biggest problem as I will need a good sized area cleared for it.
H and I decided to tackle that problem this morning.   The first thing we did was swap the couch in the family room for the one in the sunroom.    What does that have to do with making  a place for the tree....nothing!     BUT....some people ...and you know who you are,  have been saying that the sofa in the sunroom is so much more comfy than the one in the family room.  We spend more time in the family room around the holidays,  so I want everyone to be comfy!

Pink Pumpkins for the Cure

I wanted to do a post in October in honor of my mother ....she was a breast cancer survivor.  I made a special pink satin pumpkin with white roses and lace.

A Scary Halloween

H and I took a little drive today to see the Halloween yard decor ......eek......I'm gonna have night mares tonight!   Who thinks I should have took a selfie with this guy!

Halloween Tree

I decorated a small Halloween tree today and added some "spooky stuff" to the existing fall decor in the entryway.

Howdy Ya'll....

I just had to share some of the fun fall decor that I have been seeing in our area....

Dressed for Halloween

I "dressed" the entry for Halloween by dressing a chair with a spooky black witch dress.   This tattered vintage wedding dress was worn by my dress form last Halloween,  but I wanted to do something different with it this year.

Decorating the Yard for Halloween

I started my Halloween  decorating by placing some pumpkins around the columns that are at the front of the porch.       Aren't the new colors and shapes of the pumpkins so  pretty for fall decorating?

Guest Bedroom Mini Makeover

It's been awhile since the guest room has been "freshened up".     For $50 and some shopping around the house,  I was able to accomplish a mini make over today.
First I changed the window treatment from a satin valance to a silk floral valance.

Tea & Treasures

We stopped by a few yard sales and went to the auction Saturday.   The auction was mainly southwest decor and Santa Fe Railroad memorabilia,  so I didn't buy too much.    There are two big antique auctions next Saturday that I am really looking forward to, but the question is....which one will I go to!

Shabbylicious Halloween

Welcome to my Shabbylicious Halloween Home

I don't like scary Halloween decor......and neither does my little granddaughter that stays with us several days a week.    So,  I am decorating this year with what I call the "softer side"  of Halloween.

Outdoor Fall Decorating Ideas

I have had fun snapping photos as H and I have drove around the last couple of weeks.   Do you ever just get out and drive around....look at the yards....imagine how their house looks inside....
There is a farm just a couple of miles away from our house that has lots of cool junk.   I loved this old truck they decorated for fall.

Fall Tablescape

I brought this gorgeous set of dishes home with me from the auction Saturday and couldn't wait to do a tablescape with them!
