Repurposed Metal Settee

H and I worked on the flower bed that runs parallel to the Greenhouse today.
I  mentioned in an earlier post that the deck on the east side of the house needs to be replaced,  so everything on it needs to be moved to another location.    The metal terrariums that are on each end of the Greenhouse used to be on each side of the faux fireplace on the deck.

Easter Wreath

I created several Easter tablescapes in the family dining area over the last couple of weeks and decided to use the MacKenzie Childs style theme for our family's Easter dinner.
Once the decision was made,  I set in and decorated the rest of the dining area in the same theme.   I shared the buffet in an earlier post,  and now I wanted to share the built in cabinet.

Easter Village

I made these houses last Christmas and really enjoyed seeing them during the holidays.    I  hated to pack them up after the holidays,  so I left a few out that didn't look too Christmasy......intending to use them in my Valentine decor.    Well,  Valentines Day came and went,  and I didn't include them in any of my Valentine decor.

MacKenzie Childs Style Easter Buffet

I have been adding touches of black and white check to some of my Farmstyle decorating and it put me in the mood to use some of it that I had on hand to create a MacKenzie Childs style Easter vignette on the small buffet in the family dining room.

Cottage Style Easter Eggs from Fabric Scraps

The other day I dropped by Kerryanne's blog  (Shabbyartboutique) to see what she was she was up to and was so excited to see her post on how to use up some of my ever growing stash of small pieces of fabric.
These eggs are so much fun to make and I will give you the link to her tutorial at the end of my post.

Better Late than Never

Somehow I forgot about this post.....does that ever happen to you?
About a week ago,    I showed you how I made the sweet Easter basket you see on the island.     After I created the basket,   H and I had a quick simple lunch and I took some photo's before we ate.   Then I completely forgot about it until today when I saw the post way down at the bottom of my post!

Easter Tablescape

I have been playing with dishes again this morning!
The Easter dinner is a very special one for our family and I want the tablescape to be perfect,  so I will be trying different ones over the next few weeks and pick my favorite to use Easter Sunday.

Spring Mantle

I had intended to take down the old piece of windmill that has been on the mantle for a while,   but I'm not tired of it yet,  so why should I take it down!      I want to use it outside in one of my flower beds,  so you will see it soon in a different location....probably...maybe....unless I change my mind.

Week end Treasure Hunt

I was able to drop by a few yard and estate sales over the week end and found some stuff I didn't know I!

Mud Pies and a Pink Garden Hose Spring Tablescape

I had so much fun creating this Spring tablescape.
It all began with getting to make mud pies....something I haven't done in years!      These mud pies are a little different than the ones I used to make as a child,   but I have to admit they were almost as messy.     I took a few pic's as I made them,   so I may do a small tutorial if anyone is interested.

Make a Basket of Fresh Flowers

I wanted to share some tips on how I fill a basket with fresh flowers.    This is the second time I've filled this basket with flowers and I have a link to the other post at the end of  this one with those tips.

Fresh or Fake?

Do you prefer fake or fresh flowers?

I think I prefer fresh,  but they are not always available..... pretty pricey and don't last but a few days.        On the other hand,   fake flowers are readily available.   Like the fresh ,  the realistic ones are pretty pricey....but they last ,  and last and last.
Today I wanted to do a fresh spring floral design but couldn't find any fresh tulips or daffodils   ( I found some daffodil plants at Lowes but that's all they were...plants...the blooms were all wilted. )    So,  I decided to use fake and fresh in my design....see if you can tell which is fake and which is fresh.
