Vintage Sewing Machine Drawer Repurposed into a Christmas Planner

I have always depended on a planner to help keep me organized .....especially during the Christmas holidays.     In the past I have used a plain bound planner,   but I decided this Christmas season I would use something a little different.    I had so much fun creating a custom Christmas Planner to use over the holidays     Handmade is always the best....don't you think!

I've been MIA for several weeks and it's time to get back to work!    I've had some health issues that hopefully are behind me....I'm still not 100%  but I am thankful to be better than I was.
Decorating  our home for Christmas doesn't happen over night and I am at the Fall-oween-mas stage!    There is still fall and Halloween up in places and I've bought a couple of new Christmas pieces that are just scattered around the house for now.    I'm not ready to decorate for Christmas yet,  but I don't want to carry them out to the Christmas storage shed in the back yard.

More Changes in the Sunroom & a Fall Tour

I spent all of last week cleaning and making changes to the furniture arrangement in the sunroom and I'm finally finished!   Well, let's be honest am I ever really finished in a room.    I can hardly walk thru a room without moving something in a vignette ever so slightly or trying a pillow on a different piece of furniture in the!

Fall Sunroom

I recently did some deep cleaning in the sunroom and while moving the furniture out to clean under it,   I decided to create a new furniture arrangement to give the sunroom a fresh look.     H moved the leather recliner to the studio and brought back in 2 vintage rockers.     We also moved the love seat into the family room where it had previously been.   H also repurposed our old water trough into a Farmhouse buffet to add to the furniture arrangement in the,  lots of changes going on in!

Old Water Trough Repurposed as a Buffet

My old water trough is one of my most versatile pieces of decor.      It's been a water feature in the yard.....a coffee table on the back porch......a Christmas tree "stand"......and now a buffet in the sun room

Baby Boo's & Cotton Bolls in my Fall Cabinet

I love this time of year!    H & I enjoy taking drives in the country to see the all cotton fields.   We grow lots of cotton in our area and the fields are so lovely right before the farmers begin harvest season.    Our recent drive a couple of days ago gave me the inspiration for the fall decor in the big lit cabinet in the family dining room

Sculpting Fabric Pumpkins

I have our TV in an armoire and when it's not in use,   I put a chenille drape across the front of it.    The drape is on a tension rod that I can easily drop down to the bottom of the TV when we want to watch a program.

Farmhouse Kitchen Shelving

Sorry,   I messed up and posted a draft.    Here's the link to my latest post......

Fall Farmhouse Kitchen Shelving

H made this shelving unit to fit perfectly in a little corner of the kitchen next to the refrigerator.     It's one of my favorite areas  to decorate and this year I chose calm autumn colors for the decor

Creating a Fall Mantel the Easy Way

Have you ever designed the decor on your mantel and loved it so much you just couldn't bring yourself to take it down when a new season or holiday came around?    Well,  that's where I'm at!     The thought of taking the decor down made me I decided I would just leave the "bones" of the currant decor up and add fall touches to it.

I started by adding a fun pick up that Walmart is carrying in their fall decor this year.   I took out the black and orange pumpkins that were in the bed and replaced them with a single large pumpkin that fit into my fall color scheme better.

How to Decorate with Corrugated Metal and Calendars

The 2021 calendars are out and I am thrilled to see that a lot of them are featuring Farmhouse style pictures.    I have decorated with calendars for years,   just like my grandmother did many years ago.     I can remember her walls were decorated with about  the only things that were available for her back photo's and calendars that she received in the mail from business's they bought animal feed from.

Reinventing Years Past Fall Decor

When I made these fabric pumpkins several years ago,   I never dreamed they would become such a staple in my fall decorating year after year.     I didn't realize how many different rooms they've made an appearance in or how many ways I have used them until I looked on my blog today!   They've had quite a!

Fall Buffalo Check Master Bedroom

My love for buffalo check goes waaaaay back!    I loved it before it was so popular in Farmhouse decorating.    I use buffalo check year round,   but there is just something about that look that is especially cozy & warm in the fall and winter months.

The star of my fall bedroom is the water fall ruffled buffalo check bedding.    I found an inexpensive king size duvet cover on Amazon ($52)  and altered it to create a unique cover for our bed.    The ruffled pillow cases are also from Amazon  ($15)    I didn't receive any compensation from Amazon,   I just wanted to share the info with you guys!

The pumpkin pillows I have on the bed are some I've had several years,   but the Rae Dunn MORNING PUMPKIN pillow is a new purchase from Hobby Lobby.
