Be My Valentine

One of my favorite Valentine decorations are these sweet Dreamsicle babies.     I have been collecting them for years and usually find them at yard sales for less than $1.

Pink Kitchen Cabinets

Most of the cabinets in our kitchen are painted white,  but I have one section that I have kept a different color over the years

Coffee Bar

We hardly ever used the table and chairs that were in the kitchen,  so we took them out!   In their place,   H made a custom cabinet to hold dishes in the lower shelves and use the top as a coffee station.

Valentine Tree

This year I decorated my vintage pink bottle brush tree for Valentine's Day with  pastel pink & baby blue ornaments and just a touch of red.

Custom Made Kitchen Buffet

We seldom used the table and chairs that were in the kitchen,   so I thought that space could be put to a better use with a buffet to store dishes, glasses, and misc kitchen stuff.    I looked everywhere for a vintage buffet to fit the space and had the storage that I wanted....no luck.    So,  I asked H if he thought he could custom make me one and of course he said yes....gotta love that guy!

Vintage Valentines

I bought a  box of vintage Valentines at the auction this past summer for $17 (as I remember, not sure).    I have been looking forward to getting them out for Valentines Day.
I don't decorate the mantle or much else around the house for Valentines but I usually do something in the family room.   I know that I overdo my decorating,  but I guess it's just my style....lol!   Above you see the completed result,   below is probably where I should have stopped!

What's behind the drape.....what is she hiding you ask!    Well,  I'm not going to show you how bad it looked when I took the drape down....hehehe!

Breakfast Bar

H done a construction project in the kitchen last week that I am very excited to show you.     After having a Christmas tree set up in the kitchen for  several weeks where the eating area was....guess what....we decided that we didn't really miss the table and chairs.   But,  we still wanted an area to sit down and have a snack,  eat a light breakfast,  or sit down to work on  meal prep.

Themed Bottle Brush Christmas Tree

When I saw that HL had marked their Christmas decor 90% off,   I figured I better go over and take a look.    They still had a lot of the higher dollar ornaments left ($10-12)  so I looked thru them.    I thought these would make a cute themed bottle brush tree.....What a Diva dose all Day.....lol!    Blog,  play word games,   surf the internet.....

Christmas Decor Down....Spring Up?

I always dread taking down the Christmas decorations.....first,  because I enjoy them so much......and second,  because I have a hard time deciding what decor to use in all those blank spaces that are left.       I see some bloggers using a winter theme for  the mantle and other rooms in their home.

Kitchen Update

The cabinets in the kitchen are getting a fresh coat of paint  ( same color)   but it is sure taking more time than I thought it would to get them all painted!      I am also changing the vignettes on the counters and the window treatments.
