Dining Alfresco....5 of my Favorite Summer Tablescapes

We frequently eat outdoors during the summer,   so I have created many many tablescapes over the years.   I picked out 5 of my favorites to share with you guys.   Usually I save my favorite for last,  but this time it's going to be at the top of my list!

My favorite of all time has to be the lemon tablescape I created using Dollar Tree dishes.    Second  is my Longhorn tablescape.....3rd is the watermelon tablescape,   4th is my  breakfast tablescape....and last but still a favorite is the aqua and pink  one.     Which one is your favorite?

Wildflowers, Phlox, and Roses in a Vintage Ice Cream Freezer

I took advantage of the abundance of flowers blooming in our back yard and the wildflowers blooming along the country roads to create a  beautiful late summer bouquet for the front porch.

White Sunflowers in my Front Porch Planter

I haven't had much luck using live plants in my flower box......the soil dries out quickly in the summer heat......and the flowers die in area's,  usually leaving a big hole right in the center of the flower!    So,  today I have my shutter flower box filled with faux white sunflowers and pink Geraniums.
I used to only use sunflowers in my fall decor......not anymore though!     Instead of the standard yellow sunflower,   stores now carry them in pink,  white,  green,  orange......just about any color you would need to fit into your decorating color scheme.   I think sunflowers work perfect in farmhouse decor almost year round.

Southern Ice Cream Supper on the Porch

Since July is Ice Cream month,   I thought it would be fun to decorate the front porch in an ice cream theme.     Southern Ice Cream suppers are still popular here in Eastern New Mexico and I am going to have one this week end for our family.     I haven't decided yet if I'll make banana, peach, or chocolate ice cream....maybe all of them!

Family Time and a Visit to Canton Texas

H & I took our 13 yo grand daughter to visit family in east Texas recently.    I have lots of family that live in area's north east of Dallas.
We went to a big cat fish fry out at my cousins house and their property is just gorgeous so I took a few photo's to share with you guys.     Most of the photo's were taken outside,   but I did take some of her huge closet.    I also took some photo's of a shop that we visited in Canton......if you ever get a chance to shop Canon on "first Monday" it's worth the trip

Mid Summer Back Yard

I took photo's of the back yard in early April.    It's mid July now and  the yard has progressed very nicely despite the hot weather we've had here recently.     H and I just returned from a trip to see relatives that live just northeast of Dallas and MAN was it hot and humid there!    Made me really appreciate the dry cooler weather here in Eastern New!
