Our daughter just completed two bathroom remodels and she had a little bit left in her decorating budget. I didn't know if a farmhouse table could be built for $200.....but. why not give it a try!
She found a farmhouse table that she liked on Pinterest and with H's help, they worked up a plan to make one similar to it. She bought four 2x12x10's and ten 2x3x8's and one 4x4x10......the cost was about $130 for the lumber.
I really thought when I decorated the front porch in a Patriotic theme around Memorial Day that I would like it decorated that way until Labor Day. But now...... only half way thru the summer, I have found myself putting away the bright colored Patriotic decor and replacing it with the pastel colors I love so much.
I used to only use sunflowers in my late summer / fall decor......not anymore though! Instead of the standard yellow sunflower, they now come in pink, white, green, orange......just about any color you would need to fit into your decorating color scheme. I think sunflowers work perfect in farmhouse decor almost year round.
This year, it seems as though we have had to do more repairs to our property than usual. The high winds we had over the winter were responsible for a lot of the repairs that had to be done. But, the repairs that the back porch needed were simply wear and tear.
You don't see very many scarecrows in summer decor, but I thought I needed one on the front porch. With all the tree's that surround our front porch birds have really become a nuisance, but only when we aren't on the porch. So, I had a brainstorm to put a scarecrow on the porch to maybe.....hopefully......scare them away, lol!
