| Our area has lots of small farming communities.......tons of dairies.......and charming little rural towns...... |

| On of the towns we visited was Plainview Tx. . |

| They have several antique stores to wander thru.... |
 |
| My favorite one is called Uniques & Antiques......it is a large three story building on the town square. |
 |
| It is filled with pinkness...... |
 |
| shabbiness...... |
 ...my favorite dishes...... |
 |
| and lots of unique ideas! |
 |
| What did I buy???? Vintage gloves...$2, placemats and napkins....$5......3 craft plates, $1 each.....and a small rose plate $2. |

| There are some beautiful old houses in Plainview..... |

| Old fashioned cooking! |

| Here is the town square.....Charming old courthouse, brick streets, and a painted concrete Texas Long Horn to greet you! |

| I loved all the painted cows that I saw around town..... |
 |
| They even had a Texas long horn perched on top of one of the roofs! |

| Here are so more that we saw around Plainview. I love the painted horses that Amarillo Tx has around their town.....I will try to do a post on them sometime...and also on the painted cows around Clovis. |

| Where did all those culverts (?) come from and how did they get those trucks on top of them? |

| This is a common sight around our area. Lush green fields being watered with sprinklers ....as we get very little rain. |

| Here is one of the towns that we went thru. They grow lots of cotton in that area. The first photo shows one of the old cotton gins, of course, they have more modern ones now. Look at all that grain in the third photo, we also have tall grain elevators in the area. |

| We drove 40 miles down the road from Plainview to my favorite nursery! |

Been a bit under the weather lately...my IBS is acting up so i have not been out of the house for a few days. We had lots of Rain here...... Threats of Flooding here and there but we are high and dry!!

How pretty! I've never been to Plainview but you sure represented it well. We live in the Dallas area...there are so many fun little towns around Texas. I love the old courthouses.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day trip and I love the treasures you brought home! That nursery is so lush and green! I love all of the Longhorns you featured. It's so much fun when towns do that. One time when I was in Amsterdam they had elephants all over town. I actually did a post about them! When we were in Salt Lake City for the Winter Olympics in 2002 there were painted buffalo all over town. Can't wait to see the horses when you post them!
