Bring the Outdoors Inside

I decided to redo the entry in an English Country Garden style by bringing the outdoors in.
I started by bringing in two of  the four cast metal chairs that have been on the front porch.    I have 2 chairs on the porch just to the left of the front door....now I have the other matching pair just inside the front door.in the entry.
I had bought a king size sheet at a yard sale last week end and thought it would make perfect "wallpaper" on one of the walls in the entry.     The sheet was $2 and I have done this wall and have a little less than half of it left to add more touches in the area.

I used the back side of the sheet to create a muted vintage look.

By tacking the fabric under the mirror and letting it drape to the floor,   I was able to hide all the cords behind the mirror that hook up the chandy hanging to the left of the mirror.     I tacked  panels to each side of the mirror to complete the look.
The entry has very little natural light,  so I have plenty of lamps to light up the area.

I bought these big roses at a local shop many many years ago....I think the stem was $15 as I remember.   There used to be a third rose,  but it has been lost over the years.    The stem of roses has been in a corner out in the studio for all these years..........glad to see them back in style.

I made a  garland for the top of the mirror from some large roses.

I have a two tiered table between the wrought iron chairs.....

I had not seen a pink Fuchsia in our area,  but Lowes had some in the garden area a couple of days ago.

This is the "four way stop" at the heart of our home.    Hallway to the bedrooms.....entry.....kitchen....and family room!   It gets pretty congested here at times....lol!

I'm still working on the area to the left,  so I'll have to share it later......

and in the mirror is a sneak peek of what H is working on!    I bought these shutters at a yard sale last week end  ($4 for all)   and H is going to make a custom cabinet to go under the display shelves.

One of these days I would like to hang new wallpaper in the entry,  but for now I'll just enjoy my inexpensive redo!

  4. I would never thought to use a sheet for wall paper but what a good idea. I myself love to use silk flowers, Some of them you can't tell the difference. Your décor is just what my heart admires,

  9. That is a good idea to use the sheet to change the look. And so much easier to take down instead of wallpaper. Plus like you say, it hides the cords which is a huge win.

  11. I like your entry a lot, Penny. I do love florals and this is all so pretty. A fine idea hanging the panels to mimic wallpaper which also hides the cords. Thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day.

I so love the use of fabric on the wall! The color makes things really pop!!
And your collection of Chandy's is impressive!! Love the use of the chairs in the house!! Genius!! We were able to clean up out front and set up the front porch. I did get rid of 2 boxes of things. I am in a purging mood...
