Spring Break on the Island

Three of the grands were out for spring break this week,  so we all loaded up in the car....well,  several cars and headed to Port Aransas.    It's a gorgeous island just off  of Corpus Christi Texas.

The island had so many beautiful flowers and shrubs.....

Kyleigh made sand castles when she wasn't Boogie Boarding!

We rented a cottage that slept 12.

The marina......

Our two grand sons......Austin.(left) is a Sr this year.    Aaron (right) is a firefighter.

I didn't even hook up my computer the entire time we were gone and took very few pictures.

We enjoyed so much fresh seafood on the island.   This local restaurant had a unique way of serving....they just bring out big tubs of boils and dump the food on the table!    Our oldest grand daughter Sarah on the far right.  She is in college and will soon be a RN like her mom.    Our daughter and sil are right behind her.   They all boogie boarded and had fun on the island....h and I just enjoyed being on the beach with the family!

The island has 6 ferry's that run all the time,  so dry land is never too far away!

Did I mention that we stopped at Round Top on the way down and Fredricksburg on the way back?   Picked up a few goodies that I'll show you later!   It was a fun vacation,  but I'm always glad to be home!
