I am always trying to think of a different or unusual container to hold a centerpiece and today I thought of the vintage metal milk bottle carrier that I bought at the auction a while back. |
My carrier has room for 2 gallon bottles and 4 quart bottles......... |
The gallon space in the center was a perfect fit for one of my vintage Valentine candy boxes...... |
This pretty pink heart box is covered with heart polka dots..... |
I filled the gallon and two quart glass bottles in the back spaces of the carrier with dozens of roses...... |
I used a blackboard card to write a message for the flowers..... |
I found these blackboard cards on a stick with liquid chalk pen and stick on labels at Joan's the other day in the 60% off area. |
I stuck some of the blackboard labels on my glass milk bottles and filled them with crochet pieces. |
I sat a Happy VDay in front of my milk bottle carrier |
I put sweet heart shaped pillows in the chairs....my mother made these 3 pillows several years ago. |
I have a teapot, creamer and sugar on the tiered table that's next to one of the chairs. |
I have a tea towel on the top tier of the table that's embroidered with a cute flower lady.... |
I can't wait to show you the tablescape that I created to go with my Valentine centerpiece. Be back soon! |
Do you know we can still get milk delivered in glass bottles to the door here and my daughter also gets it delivered in glass bottles in IN! Nothing like it in the world. Everything is looking like Valentine's Day at your house, Penny. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOh so so very pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers take center stage, indeed.
Just lovely.
Penny,
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to use the milk bottle carrier. I have one of those too... This looks so lovely with your window as a back drop..

Beautiful...looks so romantic. Happy Valentines Day to you! Leticia
ReplyDeleteYes I remember the milkman delivering milk bottles to the back door. Haven't seen a milk bottle in ages. Lovely table.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks made for a Valentine's display. Everything is so pretty, feminine, lacy and pink. I love the old bottle rack, but its the little heart boxes that gave me memories. When I was little I always begged for a pretty box of chocolates, my Mom who was much more practical calmly explained their was more value in the plain box chocolates. NOT lol...
ReplyDeleteI love how you use the old with the new, and have the perfect sense of balance between them. Beautifully done!
ReplyDeletePenny, that carrier is awesome! I've never seen one that held a large bottle. Beautiful filled with roses. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
