The first thing we moved out from the protected part of the porch was the vintage iron baby bed. |
The repurposed washing machine tub you see in front of the metal glider found a new home on the back porch deck. |
I bought a few outdoor pillows to use in the baby bed. |
I still need to spray my pillows with that stuff that makes them repel water. |
It's easy to pull off the clothes pins and let the curtain sides down to protect the fabric a little when it rains.....which is seldom in Eastern New Mexico! |
H and I are going to have a lite lunch on the porch today....... |
Easy to clean up paper plates and napkins. I only had a few roses in bloom today, but the bush in the front yard was full of blooms....... |
These plants are heat tolerant and require very little water...... |
I've added another birdhouse to the seat since you last saw it...... |
I have my easels on the side of the bed for now, but they will be moved again before I'm finished. |
I need to find a pot big enough to hold these daisies and move them to a sunnier location. |
Be back soon to show you more of the new look for the porch! |
I enjoy your blog very much...you find the most awesome pieces.
ReplyDeleteThe way it rains down here in Southeast Louisiana I'd NEVER be able to have an umbrella as pretty as yours in my yard. In fact the thunder is rolling right now, due for another thunder storm. Last week we had a bunch of flooding, roads were blocked due to high water. Grass is knee high due to all the rain. :-) Love visiting your blog.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you lived, that you didn't have to worry about all your pretties getting wet and soggy! Keep on with your beautiful decorating, as I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's all so lovely - you have created my dream outdoor area with pretty linens and fabric. Here in Connecticut it is impossible to leave untreated fabric out overnite due to the weather, and also because of the insects and garden critters (mice and chipmunks). Right now we are having an infestation of gypsy moth caterpillars and my deck resembles a scene from a horror movie - black hairy caterpillars are everywhere! Oh well, thats why I enjoy your blog so much - it provides me with huge amounts of delicious eye candy!
ReplyDeletePenny,
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so lovely!! It amazes me every time I visit and see all the fabric that you are able to keep outside. I just read the post above about the catepillars.Luckily, all the rain we have had has kept the catepillar infestation that we were supposed to get here down. And yes, I did have baby doves in the hanging pot last year. Now I will soon have baby robins in the nest in the tree!!
Hugs,
Deb

Your porch is absolutely beautiful! Like everyone else I too found myself wondering what you do in the even of a storm, we have a lot of high wind and rain down here in the spring and fall; I've always wanted to dress my porch up similar to what you've done but didn't want the added work of moving everything every time a storm pops up. Beautiful design!
ReplyDeleteI love those bird pillows on the baby bed! And I am still in love with the umbrella.
