Can a Buzzard Skeleton Hatch her Eggs....Maybe!

This was such a fun Halloween vignette to create on the family room coffee table.     I'm not much into the creepy side of Halloween.       I don't do a lot of decorating for Halloween,   but what I do is normally not toooo scary!

Mrs Buzzard skeleton made her nest  in a vintage ironstone chamber pot.

One of her eggs is about half open and one of them has one little peck hole in it.

Here's a better close up that I took on the kitchen island.     I love the color of her eggs don't you?

This is where her eggs were gathered.    This stuff grows wild on the side of the road here in New Mexico.    I would guess from the looks of her eggs,   they are some kind of gourd.

I have a vase of field flowers that were picked yesterday on the coffee table.

I also have a abandoned wasp nest in my vignette.     I've had it for years,   so don't worry,   there's no kind of varmint left in it!

I took a photo from the kitchen doorway of the family room.......

Then I took a photo from the sunroom door way.    Why????? you ask
I wanted to get a good "before" photo to use when the new stuff we ordered for the family room comes in next month.    I am so excited,    it's something I've wanted for a long time!

  1. Penny, You are brave. I would not bring those gourd things in my house...I am a germ -a-phob. But I do love the wasp nest. :):) I love the pumpkin picture behind the nest. You house is very cheery. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  2. Now I need a trip to New Mexico to find those eggs/ gourds. And I pinned your wasp nest. Who saves a wasp nest? I need one of those too. My family is going to think I'm crazy. So let them be afraid.

  10. Penny, I saw those wild gourds growing in So Cal, too! Great idea to use them as eggs! Thank you for sharing your home from different angles. It'll be fun to see your "new look" when your room is ready. :) I've been seeing lots of skeletons around this year, too.

Happy decorating ~ still love your Shabby Chic globe from this summer,
