Fall Wreath Tutorial

I love,  love,   love making wreaths!   

 I always keep a seasonal wreath on the front door and you'll see them scattered generously around the house.

When I was thinking about the design I wanted to use to create my wreath,   I knew that I wanted to incorporate some of the fun prints I have.      

There are so many of them available on the internet and most of them are free.

I selected a big oval grapevine wreath for my creation.     

   I wired a empty gold picture frame to the wreath, but it's optional if you don't have one.

    Then I strung heavy wire across the wreath in two places.,  you'll see why I have two later.    But remember,   this is your creation and you can add one,   two,   or as many as you want.

I had to move from the kitchen to the family dining room to continue,     My wreath stand kept falling over when I put the weight of the two pumpkins on the front of it....lol!     So   now I have it hung on the sturdy permanent screw I have on the front of the display cabinet   

 The two silver pumpkins I have wired to the front of the wreath came from At Home,   but I have seen them other places.    They have a flat back which allows them to easily be attached to the wreath. 

 In  the second photo you can see how the spray of greenery looked before I cut it up into 3 pieces.  I even cut a few of the smaller pieces in half.    I had 3 whole greener pieces to use in my fall wreath.

  In the third photo,   you can see where I added two pink sunflowers and two pink roses.     Here is where you can decide if you want to add a bow to the top or bottom and declare your wreath finished or add more to it.    This is your wreath,  so you make it the way you want to.

I decided to make my wreath fuller by adding more stuff to it....which is a surprise to no one......lol!

Here is what I added,   but you can add anything you want.      Most of the filler I used was left over from other projects,  but  you can find good filler at Michael's and Hobby Lobby if you're out of left overs..
  Just add more filler in the blank spots of your wreath about 5-6 inches apart  moving clock wise all around the wreath,     Repeat this step until it looks like you want it to.

Now I get to play with my stash of fall printables......

 

I had these two prints in mind when I added two wires across my wreath.

I need to find a print  that says Welcome October since today is the first day of October.

This print will be perfect around Thanksgiving......as well as every other day of the year!

 

I didn't think feathers would fit into my decor,  but I kinda like the way they look in my wreath.   Maybe I'll even add a few faux feathers around my completed wreath later.

 

With Halloween creeping right up on us,   I went thru my stash and pulled the Halloween prints out.

I like the softer.... less scary side of Halloween,  so this print is perfect for me.

If you hang your wreath on the front door,    you can use it to clip notes on.....like.....I'm in the backyard,  come on back!      

I actually made this wreath for the front door,    

But,  I really like it here!

   Oh well,    since I love to make wreaths...... maybe I'll just make another one!
