Junkin' in the Wild West

H and I drove over to Amarillo Texas the other day to eat lunch and visit some of the great antique shops they have on the old Route 66.    I wanted to share some of what I saw at The Nat,   one of my favorite  places to "pick".

This old cement  hen is all dressed up for Halloween......

Pony and buggy filled with Halloween pillows.....

I didn't pick this piece up to look at the bottom,  but it looks like a Jim Shore piece.

I have antiqued all over the USA,   and I think each region has a different collection of antiques in their shops

Pa is probably one of my favorite states to go junkin' ........

How many pig coffee tables have you seen in your treasure hunting?

The Milk House Market is one of my favorite booths at the Nat,   but she also has a big shop full of goodies in Friona Texas.   https://www.facebook.com/milkhousemarket/

That white metal buggy full of pictures caught my eye in this booth.......

I liked the drawer unit in this booth......

And of course,   you will see lots of antlers and old pick up truck tail gates in the wild west......

I hadn't ever seen a tabletop electric organ before.....

More taxidermy .........

None of my birdcages are large enough to do much of a vignette in......so I liked this one.

Loved the repurposed instruments!

Hope you enjoyed the trip down Route 66!

  5. OMG! What treasures! I recognized the Jim Shore piece immediately! Would you believe I went to high school with Jim Shore? He graduated from York High in 1969 and I graduated in 1971!

  9. I love all of those signs. I have been collecting such things for a while now. We have to get them hung back up now that we have finished painting.

  10. I love to go to antique and junk stores! My hubby and I always say it's not a real antique store until we see a Velvet Elvis or a picture of Jesus. Then we know we've hit the jackpot!
