Shabby Halloween Mantle

This is the faux fireplace that is in the formal dining room.  I got this piece in San Antonio , Tx at a goodwill type store. It was run by a group of the sweetest church ladies, sorry but I don/t remember the name of the church.   I loved the columns on the side and I had a pair of vintage lamps that I knew would  fit perfect!  (the lamps came from a yard sale 7.50 for the pair!)  This is a very large piece, it almost goes to the ceiling.

I know you have seen this ruffled wreath a bazillion times, but I use it ALOT!   The crystal and brass piece in front of the wreath  is something I picked up at a yard sale.   I think it was a scale at one time, but sadly no scales on it.  Where the scales would be, I have hung some crystal pieces from the Christmas section at HL

I have layered some doilies on the mantle.

I considered painting the mantle totally white, but decided that I would leave it original. The mantle is very ornate and has lots of gold accents.

I hung a pair of cherubs on each end of the fireplace opening and draped some lacey fabric across them.

Here is a close up of the lamps and the pedistal that they sit on.

This is what I am using for the "fire" part of the fireplace.  I put a light in the back of it, since it has no fire, lol!

Usually the ceramic grates are missing when you find one of these heaters, as they are very fragile.  This one had most of them.

I have a glittered skull on the mantle.  I think this one is a girl, so she got a vintage pearl necklace!  You may remember this head from a few weeks ago on a trash to treasure post .  I got two of them for .50 each at a yard sale.  My pumpkin is on a silver vase and has a sparkly crown that I got from the wedding section at HL. (napkin ring)

I think everything looks better on a pedistal,  just a silver candlestick.

I can change out the sign on this wreath easily when Thanksgiving gets closer.   Just a hat pin (made by moi) stuck into the styrofoam circle of the wreath.

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you will leave a comment....I love them! I will be joining the se partys:
