Vintage Towels & Christmas Ornaments

Saturday was a perfect autumn day.....light breeze, sunny, and temps in the 60's.    There were a few yard sales and no auctions...but, there are three good auctions next Saturday..woo hoo!   Too bad I can't be in three places at one time...
I had swore that I would not buy anymore Christmas ornaments, but I couldn't resist these beautiful pink Christmas by Krebs ornaments.   The Christmas by Krebs mfg company is in Roswell NM, about a 100 miles from here.  H's freight company used to go down there and haul ornaments out by the trailer load.  I have quite a few of their ornaments as the owners used to send boxes to H in appreciation of his company's careful handling of their "fragile cargo"

Thank goodness the ornaments were sold together, so I didn't have to leave any behind!

There were four of these pale blue bell shaped ornaments ...Christmas by Krebs.

Some odds and ends blue ornaments and a beautiful tree topper!

There were 6 boxes of the vintage Coby Glass ornaments....

$3 for the whole box!!!
.25 for a sweet ceramic rose container....

These towels reminded me of some my Grandma used to have.   She worked as a sales person in the linen dept. at Levines Dept Store back in the 60's...anyone remember Levines?
I think my Grandma must have spent a good deal of her check on towels and sheets when she worked there....she just loved linens!
These thick luxery  towels were made by Callaway in the 60,s and 70's.   The big bag held 3 bath towels, 4 hand towels, and 12 wash cloths....they were all in excellent condition,    $3 for all...what a deal!

I am keeping the pink ornaments for my tree, but the blue ones will probably go on my daughters tree that she is doing in a "Peacock theme" this year.   I still haven't decided on all my theme's for this years Christmas trees...but one will involve carousel horses!

  1. I love the pale blue bells, they look so delicate. Lucky you that "H" took such good care of his cargo. I remember buying towels like those at The May Co. when I was a VERY young bride. They did last a good 30 years before I retired them to Goodwill. Thank you for sharing..... Candy

  12. Look at that beautiful color palette! Did the pink one's come with the lace or did someone add that? Either way I'm in love and thinking I might have to recreate that look!
