I found this pretty comforter set at a yard sale Saturday for $20. Comforter, bed ruffle, 4 pillow shams, and two accent pillows....all in like new condition! |
For a change, I opened the armoire doors to display some of my quilt collection.... |
I hung bed skirts on each of the open doors..... |
I made small vignettes on some of the shelves. |
I am really pleased with the new look! |
H hung shabby window frames on each side of the window......$5 each at a yard sale Saturday....I bought three of them. |
I shopped the house and made a new vignette on the sewing machine..... |
I used the other two pillow shams and accent pillow to dress up the wicker chair that was already in the room. |
I replaced the vintage radio that was in the center of the top shelf (it is now behind the chair in the above photo) In its place is a shabby shelved unit that I got at a yard sale for $20. |
I filled my new shabby shelves with H's collection of vintage cameras. |
Dear Penny, That is a beautiful guest room. It is full of expression and so many pretty things. Blessings, Catherine
ReplyDeleteI like the changes in the guest bedroom, Penny. Where on earth do you store all the treasures you buy? Here in So CA we have very little storage, so we can't have a lot. There is no way I can get my car into the garage LOL.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Mary
What a beautiful job Penny. Doesn't it always feel good when you stand back and see something that you work on and know that it is beautiful? ((HUGS)) Jo
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to come here and see what you are up to, Penny.
ReplyDeleteI have some fabric left in that same print that you found in the comforter/pillow set at the yard sale. I have it with the cream background and also with a blue background. I have always loved the pattern. xo Diana
Beautiful room Penny, love your style :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Penny. Love the new bedding that you found. It really brightened up the room. Looks very special for some special guests..Happy Tuesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteAs always, adorable. What a nice change..much more cozy and inviting with more color. My daughter is staying the night in our tiny guest room..and she is as snug as a bug in a rug..so to speak. :) Hmmm..maybe I should redo ..then again..maybe not. It sounds so simple but it's a bit of work..but yours is oh so cute!! Love the new valance.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous job! I love all the vignettes. My favourite is the one with the sewing machine.

It's so beautiful! Makes me want to crawl into that bed with a hot cup of tea and a stack of books! ;) Thanks for linking up at Vintage Bliss Tuesdays! Joann
ReplyDeleteAlways fun to switch things around a little! I've been wanting to do that. Not sure I have hubby convinced. I want to swap the book cabinet in the bedroom with the large cabinet in the entry. Both are heavy and we're not getting any younger. lol! The new spread is lovely Penny! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
