Coffee Bar

We hardly ever used the table and chairs that were in the kitchen,  so we took them out!   In their place,   H made a custom cabinet to hold dishes in the lower shelves and use the top as a coffee station.

The photo on the left shows how the buffet looked  with a "apron curtain" across the front     The photo on the right shows how it looks now with the new curtain that I made from the fabric that I am using throughout the kitchen.
You may remember the apron curtain hanging in the kitchen window earlier,   well,  it didn't work out there...lol!    I couldn't see outside and the curtain hung right behind the kitchen faucet and was in the way.    It was on a tension rod,  so when I took it down,  it was easily put into place on the buffet until I could get the new one made.

The "traveling curtain"  is now over the stove.......who knows where it will show up next!

The Hoosier sets to the side of the coffee station and we have been using it as a "toast" station for a long time.   Kyleigh has toast every morning for breakfast.    Sometimes I also have biscotti or donuts out for a treat.

The Hoosier makes a perfect "garage" for the toaster,  bread,  and jelly.....just roll the top down when you're done and it covers everything up for a clean look.

I have never bought anything from Amazon,  but my daughter does all the time.   When I mentioned that I would like to have a pink coffee pot,  she had me one ordered and  on the front porch in two days!

I have several sizes of coffee mugs hanging on the French drying rack and an assortment of flavored coffee creamers.

I have a drawer under the Hoosier to hold extra coffee supplies.    The white dish drainer holds potato's....I know potato's don't fit the coffee theme,  but that's what I store there!       There is a big white enamel pot sitting to the side of the Hoosier that holds extra bread,  English muffins,  biscotti,  and croissants.

Since we took out the table and chairs ,  H built a breakfast bar at the end of the island just in case we want to sit in the kitchen for a quick bite.

I have a coffee candle or three....hehehe...in the kitchen.

I like to set my candles in a "bed' of coffee beans.   The heat from the candle heats the beans and intensifies the aroma of coffee.   The kitchen smells like Starbucks.....and I am not paid to say that!

This is the view from my kitchen window.......we have more snow today!    I am sooooo ready for spring......

  2. Hi, Penny! I've been following your blog for a little while now and have seen a lot of your posts linked to the same parties I join. I love looking at your home and I love what you have done to your kitchen. The window curtain is beautiful and I like that they were a DIY. It reminds me of a vintage doll house I always wanted! Your husband must love pink and you're lucky because I could never get away with a pink coffee maker! :) Great coffee station.
